Just the AWD alone makes a car like that faster off the line. Agree, if that was an STI, his grandmother driving would have spanked you good.

 

Another lesson along those lines are don't mess with the Neon SRT and the EVOs. Those cars are just not right for 4 bangers.

 

As far as EVO. The new stripped RS version I think available now and new MR is coming to be lighter as well with torque increase to Sti level 300 [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]. It will be upper 12s car right from the factory [img]/w3timages/icons/laugh.gif[/img] if you know whacha doin'

 

i find it odd how some people put so much emphasis on speed. in my opinion, which may differ from people here on this or any other forum, the neon srt and wrx sti are very ugly cars. of course, it's all a matter of opinion. perhaps there are those who think they are nice looking cars--i just don't see how. so, to like a car just because it's fast is pretty asinine to me if it looks like crap. it's like going after a girl with big hooters even though she looks like a$$ and has no personality. so all the comparisons on how this car is faster or slower or whatnot makes no sense to me because damn, just be happy cuz you drive a sweet looking car that performs pretty good too. just my two cents : )

that makes no sense what you've said. being a performance car that's ugly doesn't mean choosing a chick with big hooters... it equates more to an ugly chick with an awesome personality. hooters are COSMETIC, as are the exteriors of cars. if you choose a car simply because it's pretty, then that equates to choosing a girl because of her looks and/or physical attributes. personality, much like performance is on the "inside."

saying things like 'who cares if it's fast if it's ugly' is pretty shallow... real drivers just want the experience of the car... and when you're driving the car, are you looking at its exterior? no... but then, if all you want are looks, then that's that. different strokes.

i think you totally missed my point dude. when i was referring to the big hooters deal, i was just trying to give an example of how dumb it would be to choose something just because of one good characteristic--i.e. big hooters, and to forego everything else. i wasn't giving an analogy in terms of exterior vs. interior characteristics. and so, i purchased the g-coupe because of all the positive things about it and not just because of one particular thing.

the only reason i made this point was because i've been reading posts on this and other forums for quite some time now and i find that people constantly compare how fast this car is compared to that car as if one car is better just because it's faster. that's just what i get from a lot of people, and i found it very amusing.

 

Hueman, I completely agree with you. The prettiest car is always in the winner's circle. If a car looks great and is getting it's *** handed to it left and right what is really the point? The poser appeal?

But different strokes for different folks I s'pose. When they say the STi may be fast but it sure is ugly it reminds me of my Corvette buddies when we are talking aboutthe new Cobra. With 390hp it is faster than stink.... But that qualifier always comes up...it is just a mustang.

I think that is what you meant. Maybe not.
