They are liable, but you did leave the dealership. Call infiniti consumer affaits file complaints and keep calling. they will fold.

everyone seems to be "busy" or at a "meeting" no one wants to take responsibility for the dent. the gm of the dealership doesn't even answer the phone. they keep sending me back to the service lady that claims that the dent was there to begin with. she said that it wasn't part of the walk around to inform me of anything she found. she didn't explain anything. then i get home and find the little "present"

She has a form, just like the loaner form with an outline of a car, she is supposed to mark any dents or scratches she sees. So, no.. she doesnt have to tell you she sees it.. but she would also have documented it when she did.

My dealership scrapped one of my rim (very small scarp, but it was there) and when i washed my car at home I noticed it. So, I went back to the dealership and told them...and they said "Are you sure it wasn't there already?" I replied "...Just look at my car...do you see any marks on it? I would know if there was a mark on it if I did it...just like the splash guard there...I scapped that myself so I wouldn't lie about this...". Sure enough, they repaired it. So, try that approach...

This is why I watch the mechanic do my oil and never let them wash the car.

i tried that approach. i knew for a fact that all the minor scraches/dings that i had were in the front. i never had any dents on the rear of the car before i left my house for the dealership. and i dont believe that i got the dent on my rear bumper while i drove to the dealership. i only noticed it after i got home, parked it in the garage, and performed my own little walk around

Good advice, but try to start working on your car all that you can do yourself. I do what I can and try to minimize the times my car goes into thier hands. So many workers at dealerships just don't care these days. Whenever they do anything I inspect it at the dealership right after they are done. I didn't do this one time and missed them scraping the paint of my brembos with channel locks to change my rotors.
