Infiniti F'ed my car up...
You may be in a tough predicament. Does the fuel smell really, really bad or if it a little bad?
The reason I ask is this. I had a similar situation a few months ago where I had a serious fuel leak. The leak was coming out exactly where it is depicted in your pics. I took it to the dealer. Barely getting there as I'm pulling into the dealer my car dies as I leak a whole tankful of gas over a distance of 40 miles. BTW, it was a dumb idea to drive my car to the dealer in that situation, the car could have caught fire. It was a spur of the moment thing, the thought of my car on a wrecker just really pissed me off.
Now when they diagnosed it, they said that the quick connect (plastic connector) that connects to the fuel pump failed and they needed to order a new quick connect. In a nutshell the fuel was coming up a little through that hole under the rear seat where you access the fuel pump.
Keep in mind these folks did a fuel system flush a week beforehand so I was trying to place the blame of that service on the failure of the quick connect. However, that did not work, my car was out of warranty, and I was out a couple of hundred bucks.
In short, your leak may or may not be from the sending unit, we will see when you get it to the dealer. If it is, of course the dealer should fix it. If it is that quick connect to the fuel pump, then it may be another problem that was coincidental.
Either way, the interior of your car is going to smell like gas for a while. Which brings me to the point of my post, since I found this information to be key. I tried every kind of deodorizer to take out that gas smell. Nothing worked. Yes the smell got better and better after a week or so, but it didn't completely go away. However, surprising, somebody told me to put an open can of Folger's or some other coffee grind down in the back to soak up the gas smell. I did this for a week, changing out the grind every two days or so. The grinds would reek of the gas smell. So I knew it worked. Just wanted to share my 2 cents.

Well, I got my car back last night. They said that one of the mounting tabs cracked and caused the fuel to leak. I dont know if thats the truth or not but its fixed. They replaced the fuel tank according to the paperwork. I dropping the car back off to them on monday for a full detail. I told them that I wanted whoever is detailed the car to remove the back seat to clean underneath aswell (fuel smell originated from there). The window problem still isnt fixed but they said that they are going to call Infiniti Tech Support to find out what their next course of action is. I personally think that its the motor but they havent replaced it yet. As far as the fuel smell in the car... most of it is gone... But I hope that after the detail, it will be gone. (fingers crossed)
