Well is the OP talking about Freeway racing or 1/4 racing? I've been to the tracks on several occasions. Not once have I've seen a G35 winning a race.

Maybe it's because the track was only 1/8 of a mile long? This was at Irwindale. And I think it was the same Black supercharge G in the link above.

The G sounded horrible. It even lost to a little CRX but 4 car length. haha.

i like my car, i've always like nissan, like the way the car looks, and liked it when i test drove it.

like everyone, there are things that i feel could be improved on our cars. i hate the clutch, think the sound system could be better, and engine a bit stronger. i guess i'm getting used to the power, but i just don't get the nice kick or launch that i like to. i have driven sti's and an am driving m3 now, so i'm just comparing, and wondering how else i can improve my car.

so, i guess i will post somewhere else. i have searched before about these things, but one of the points of a forum is to just post something and have others who know the answer post a quick response. i've answered others plenty of times without giving them a tongue lashing.

 

What the fvck? A Vortech S/C'd G usually gets mid 3xx whp, how much does a STi have? 25x-26x? That's about a hundred more, I know there are other factors involved in determining who will win but that much WHEEL hp will def more than compensate for other factors

 

If you are willing to buy a G and SC/turbo it, you might as well just buy a BMW 335i TT and mod that

 

A little CRX? Yeah I'm sure it had an engine swap. A modded CRX can beat an M3, STi, or evo so I don't know what you're laughing at.

 

Yeah if you plan on turbo'ing this car I would suggest getting it, you can get as much power from it as you can your S/C m3 without building the engine. Plus I like the look of the G better anyways.

 

I don't understand where people continue to get this rediculous information time after time. An STI really is not THAT fast. A stock 06-08 350z will probably run the thing into the ground. Obviously they are going to be able to rape us from a dig, but go ahead and race one from a 25mph roll and see who wins. Ill run STI's on the freeway all day long and not be beat and all i have is an intake, exhaust, spacer.

As for a supercharged g35 vs. a stock STI Should we even comment on this?

You are basing all your assumption about FI G's on a stillen S/C'd G? FYI, the stillen S/C adds the least amount of HP out of all the FI systems, especially in stage 1/2 form. And then you are going to only use a 1/8th track to do the comparisons when launching is the G's biggest issue? Please, let's try and have a little bit of knowledge/common sense before making ignorant comments

 

As for beating an M3 it is going to be hard to beat one, but it sure as hell isn't that hard to run with one. I will run with them until about 85-90 and then they will start to walk me, but christ i haven't done that much to the car. Here is what you need to run with an M3 intake, plenum spacer, headers, HFC's, exhaust and a techno square reflash or u-tech. I am not sure if you can increase your rev limiter with a u-tech, but if you can't that is why i say ECU reflash. If you can raise the rev limiter with the u-tech then go with that over the reflash. The M3's have a 8000rpm redline or so so if you go do a ECU reflash or a tune besure to raise your redline (rev limiter) to 7200RPMs. This will allow you to be up top longer and be further in the powerband for the next gear.

My best friend has a 645I here are the specs on it...As from what i can tell MSN auto's numbers are actually EXTREMELY accurate.

BMW 645I Coupe
(per MSN Auto's) 2004 BMW 645i coupe - V8 4.4L (325 hp) 6A 6M SMG6 + ABS 0-60MPH = 5.36 1/4 mile = 13.90 @ 104.90

BMW M3 Coupe
(per MSN Auto's) 2003 BMW M3 2-door coupe - 3.2L (333 hp) 6SMG + ABS 0-60MPH = 5.34 1/4 mile = 13.85 @ 105.90

As for my car when him and i race (everyday ) he will not pull 1 foot on me and i will not pull one foot on him all the way to 100MPH. Both the 645I and the M3 are extremely close in performance this shows that my car, as it is, is barely slower than the M3 (about half a car), which when i have raced M3's is about what i loose by - by the time we hit 100MPH.

Lil s2k smoked the G on every roll... hahah.. And the G35 has a larger motor and a V6.... I know, the G is TORQUELESS. hahah.

I can find JUST as many videos of G35's beating s2ks. Motor trend shows G35/S2k 0-60 1/4 times of 5.8 14.2








This site, which compiles info from diff magazines/sources, shows same 1/4 mile times and even quotes G35 as having a faster 0-60 time by 0.3 seconds !








Yeah if the G is torqueless the S2k is even more so

These times may not be realistically achievable to most drivers but these times show times RELATIVE to each other (like pre/post-dynos to see how much hp you gained, not how fast you are) and show times achieved by professional unbiased drivers.
