Good as M3???

What's the cheapest way to get my 04 Coupe to be as fast (or faster) and good handling as M3?

Is it possible?

What upgrades?

forced induction is the only way (barring you build your N/A motor). As for handling you just get your self some coilovers some strut bars, etc.

been driving my bro's M3 for a few days, and love the handling and the power. there's definitly more continous power throughout all rpms vs our cars...

and the sound system, so much better. although we get much better am reception for some reason vs m3, but whateever...

well, i was thinking of SC, so you think it will not be as good? i just wanna feel the power as i drive. g35 feels anemic now..

btw, love our shortstick so much more than the stick on the m3

for the amount of $$$ you spend trying to get your G to go as fast as an M3, you can actually buy an M3. Not only that, you don't get the exhaust fumes and headaches with an aftermarket turbo.

Vortech S/C, wide light wheel/tire setup, coilovers, swaybars, and a FSB should get you close.

You sure? Because a supercharged G can barely keep up with a stock STI.

Hmmm, no, I am making about 265 whp and i can keep up with STI in speeds above 60mph. So a supergaged G would make atleast 300whp and should be able to leave the stock STI to dust on straits.

Pretty darn sure, I actually own an M3 and a supercharged G. An FI G will slaughter a stock M3. STi is another story, depending on mods. Their strong point (launch) is our weak point, and their weak point (high speeds) is our strong point. If you can launch an FI G, an STi may pull on you up to 50 or so, but beyond that the drivetrain losses (a lot of friction in AWD) are gonna slow that beast down and the massive high end power of an FI G would probably gain on them.

Case in point: STi vs. SC G35 (Stillen), STi gets him on launch, G35 catches back up, and barely loses:

Keep in mind that the Stillen SC is the "mild flavor" of FI with real gains mostly in the low to mid range. There are a few guys on here pushing well over 100+ hp on top of that! STi would be breakfast.

I hate these threads. But why do you want to make a G another car? Did you buy it because the Name(Infiniti G35) or because it "gets all the ladies" or because you like the car. When people make these threads I think you got it for the first two reasons. Any car lover gets the car that they like, we always think about the car. Also you posted in a section that will not help you much. Maybe search around and post in the correct sub-forum. What you just asked is like, "How do I make this nerdy frizzled hair girl into a beuty queen". But to answer your question, you can make the G spank the M3 with the right amount of money. (about $20k after everything you want including labor).

hey guys im new to the forums, im thinking about getting a g35 and im coming from a S/C m3 making about 390hp with tons of other upgrades. i love the lines on these cars and im considering a g35 coupe 6mt as my next car. is it really as slow as you guys say it is? and is the handling not that great either? i would be able to get another m3 but i felt this would be a good trade, is it worth it though. i wouldnt be keeping it stock either, it would be turbod and have lots of goodies.

I bought mine (2005 sedan) because I could "feel it" talking to me. I just felt so good when I drove it. It's not the fastest car on the road, but it's damn sure not the slowest. But in the "bang for the buck" catagory, it's like a broken drum or a sore peter, you can't beat it!
