Planning on getting one..soon?!

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum. I currently have a 2006 Acura TSX, PLANNING on getting a G35 Coupe/Black on Black/Nav/6MT.
My friend got a 2004 6MT 350Z about 6 months ago, and I just love that VQ engine(but i do love my VTec ).

I finally decided to look for a G35 coupe: in my opinion, its the perfect mix of performance and luxury in my budget. I was looking to spend about 25,000 on the G, will it be possible to find a 2004+ for this kind of price (w/ not TOO many miles)?

And, one other question: This will be my first manual car, and I have no idea how to drive manual. Well, ive tried a few times, stalled once. I have the basic idea, but i heard the Z/G clutch is impossible to learn on? Is it really that hard?

I will be around the forums, just snooping around and deciding what mods i want to do(intake, exhaust, wheels, lowering, sway bars so far). THANKS!

Yup, u are pretty much like me bro...my roomate picked up a 350z and that intrigued me to get my G35...I picked mine up from Richmond, VA for 19k, so yea that price should be resonable.....as for mods.... Aftermarket Intake, Strut Bar, and Brake Caliphers/Rotors (unless u can find one with a sport package like me ).... Good Luck Bro

I am looking for a G as well, preferably 2005 or 2006, black on black, less than 20k miles. I live in Connecticut and haven't had much luck finding any in this area with my requirements. I found a few in New York and Mass for roughly $25k. I'd say you could find one for this price range. As for the 6MT, that's the only way to go. I wouldn't buy anything else, however, take a few rides in a beater to get a feel for driving stick, it's not that bad. The only thing holding me back on my purchase is the brutal winters in CT. I can't stand putting a nice car like this through that. I could use my old car for the winter but have no where to put it during the warm months. I also don't have a garage to keep it out of the elements. Anyone have any winter solutions for the G35???

whats up man welcome to the forums. I think you could find a nice G coupe for your price range, but you might have to search a bit.

As far as the clutch... I bought my 6MT without knowing how to drive a stick either. I had the whole concept down in my mind,

but I had little experience in actually doing it. but after some weeks of horrible shifting and such, I finally was able

to not stall out and embarass myself. I'd say it would take you half a year, maybe less, to drive it smoothly. As far as race shifting,

I've had my car for 6 months and i'm pretty fast at it, but definitely not as good as others. I downshift well and all in all its extremely

fun to have this car in MT. As for the navi, I would say if the perfect car comes up but it doesnt have navi, to just get

it anyway and get yourself and aftermarket navi. (I know i write a lot.) Good luck bro.

probably be easiest to learn how to drive standard on a different car..
its not impossible to learn on a g but it will be frustrating..
i know b/c i went through it haha

as for getting a 6mt i think its more exciting and fun to drive.

My advice would be to see if you can practice driving a freinds car with a manual tran. It's all a matter of preference. Only you will know whether an auto or stick will work best for you. Traffic can be a pain with a manual. That being said, I personally could have never considered getting my G with anything else other than a 6 MT. It adds so much excitement not to mention more control over the car.

If you buy a car that's stick and you don't know how to drive stick...you'll learn pretty quick. You'll be surprised how fast you learn when you HAVE to learn you know?

That being said, the G coupe is one of the harder standard transmissions to learn on but if you can drive the G coupe's standard...you should be pretty much good to go with most other cars.

Good luck finding what you're looking for...NAV is a hard option to come by.

My friend with the 350Z said that once I find the G that I want, he will volunteer his Z for me to learn on, atleast 2 days before i take delivery, then continue on my car, so i have at least enough experience to take it home..lol
