Yea, from reading your description, that must of been a hell of a pothole. I personally would keep looking around. But maybe because I am a perfectionist when it comes to my toys. Who knows. Good luck with you decision.

I did not get the car. Too many stories for me. I dont care driving a car that has been fixed, but I would prefer to be the one that causes the problems.

my whole accident where my car was nearly totalled never showed when i sold my car... i dont trust carfax anymore, i have a legit mechanic look EVERYTHING over.

I dont care how big a pot hole, pot hole may of started the accident but it was most likely ended by a curb. This car is not a crazy deal to begin with so why take the risk on a car that has had that much repair work. You have no idea if the tires will wear well, it can be aligned correctly, how long it keeps a decent alignment, who painted it (dealerships do not paint they outsource), and frankly I dont trust the 20 year old kids they have in the back at some dealerships....I found out the hard way and it cost me two more 50 mile rountrips because of a dumb kid at an Infiniti dealership.

Of course they say it was "just a pothole". Dealers will try and sell you whatever they have on the lot. If they only have autos then they will bash the manuals and say the autos are the way to go and vice versa. Don't trust them too much. Check out the work yourself. Compare the drivers and passangers LCA and surrounding structure. You may have to remove the lower engine cover but that isn't too hard. If you are serious about buying it then I don't think they will have a problem.

As far as the price is concerned, it looks good from what you have disclosed.....as long as the frame wasn't damaged. Do some more research and keep looking for 05 6MT's with similar mileage/options. Print out copies of ones you find and use that as ammo for the dealers too.

Good luck and I'm sure you will be happy with the G you purchase! I know I am.

Probably hit a curb at higher speed to do that. It may be fine, but I'd have an independant mechanic look it over. I also wouldn't pay his asking price for that car even without the damage. 20-22k sounds about right.

My G hit a curb island thingy dead on going about 20 mph (drunk gf driving)....... the car got stuck on the curb with the front wheels off the ground, and then backed, dragging for about 2 feet on the subframe with the wheels still off the ground.... there was no major damage caused. I'd be very skeptical about a pothole doing the kind of damage they were talking about.

that and i thought they just keep track of collisions and more serious stuff rather than just running over potholes...
