Vin #? and other questions. noob....
hello, i'm looking into purchasing a coupe soon. i checked out 2 so far and noticed that it doesnt have VIN# on the door itself, nor the fenders, and i dont believe it was on the hood either. The owner claim that the car has never been into any accident. Am i missing something here? Where should the VIN# be on the G coupe? from pass experience, i know that hood, fenders, doors, trunk, hood frame, all has VIN#.
What is the best way to inspect a G coupe? What should i look for?
What is needed to be done now/soon on a 88k miles car?
thanks, and hopefully i can join you guys soon. my background consisted of couple lexus of which GS430 was my last, so this a a major change. G is not so much luxury compare to the GS, but it sure does feel lot more sportier. i hope its as reliable as lexus, bc so far its more fun than the lexuses

There is a VIN on the dash visable from the out side.
There is a VIN on the B pillar when you open the door.
There is a VIN plate in the engine room.
Was your other vehicle a Honda by chance? They are commonly putting vins EVERYWHERE.

I got the same problem I bought mine from a dealership I didnt even realize it though until I bought it and got it home. My car has the VIN on the Dash and the VIN plate under the hood. No VIN in the door though. Clean Car Fax Clean Title. Also had insurance do a check as well no accidents reported on it. No signs of body damage or rewelded or bondo on the car. I Have checked under the panels to see if there was rewelds on the car. Nothing. No signs of being repainted either. Just missing the VIN tag in the door but there is the yellow tire pressure sticker in the driver side door.
I have to get a VIN inspection too so hopefully I can pass without have the door VIN tag. Does anyone know??

Did you get your question answered, most obvious places are inside the
door jam on the drivers side next to tire pressure recommendations sticker.
Looking in front of the steering wheel thru the front glass (you can't miss that
one) and under the hood. My '92 300ZXTT had the Vin numbers everywhere,
every piece of glass had the Vin # etched on it....that and my $800 alarm
kept it safe.
