whenever i shift from 1st to 2nd (manual), like halfway through the shift i always hear a noise coming from the bottom of the car, and can feel it on the shifter too.. its not like it goes down from 1 to 2 smoothly.. its like a little bump when shifting up from 1 to 2. anyone else have this issue?

hehe.

Anyway, to the original poster. I have the same thing happen from time to time as well (on my 6MT ). It's usually only when then engine hasn't completely warmed up though. Do a search on it and you'll find a few threads on the topic and see that you're not alone in this. If you REALLY have an issue with it I'd just take it to the dealer and have them check it out if the car is still under warranty.

+1. 1st to 2nd is usually just very powerful as my passengers are pinning when I enter 2nd no matter what it seems haha

More skills are required to adapt to the G35 MT. Basically on a 1-2 shift, dont let the clutch up so fast...

My 6MT shifts like butter when it's warm. When it's cold it can be a little notchy (not bad though) if that is what you are referring to.

I'm pretty sure that's what he's referring to and not necessarily what chili is referring to. Although Chili is correct in his statement as well.

I am experiencing the same problem also.. But it happens warm a decent amount also.. I was thinking maybe the synchro's myself. (1-2, 2-3 are clunky) I hope the stealership doesn't give me a run around when I get it in.

My '06 has only 13K on it so I thought it was me not being used to driving a stick again. Has anyone been to the dealer with any luck?

my 1-2 was rough at first...but after a while i got used to it. You really gotta let that clutch out slowly

+1 . . . Other than when it's really cold upon start-up, my 1 to 2 shifts are very smooth.
