Mods for Automatic G35

Hey guys just thought i'd give this forum a try might be able to give me some more input on your thoughts. I drive an 05 G35 Automatic coupe that i recently found out is a non revup engine. As of now im still waiting for my first 3 mods to come in which is the JWT Pop charger, Z-Tube, and 5/16 Copper Iso Thermal Spacer. Right now im stuck, I feel like this isn't enough for me to gain some extra HP and torque, and i do understand that i need to go for an SC or Turbo for extra gains on performance but as of now i need to learn more about them and have some extra money bc i do not have 20-30,000 just growing in my backyard, its hard times right now for many of us (won't get into why or who F'd it up). I've got a lot of advice from others on different forums but i feel is not enough.

1st advice- Upgrade valve body
2nd advice- Procharger/Vortech
3rd advice- Unorthodox Underdriver Pulley
4th advice- Exhausts and Headers

Just thoughts, opinions, recommendations, anything would be great. Thanks.

Don't upgrade your VB unless you will also be doing the FI. It's really not worth $1000 unless you have a lot more power to go with it. Exhaust and headers will make you very very happy! (but that will cost you $2,000+) You won't feel much (if anything) from the UD pulleys. If you go FI - go TT. The install is more involved but there will be less issues in the long run.

On the real, just do intake, exhaust, headers, plenum, HFC's or something to that extent. If you are gonna go FI do TT and build it right from the start. Don't cut any corners.

I was thinking about getting the Greddy TT kit for 6000, i was going to get it but someone on the forum told me that the maintenance for it is no joke very time consuming and i will end up spending 10-20,000. Around how much did you spend on your car for the TT and the other mods to support it?

The only reason you'll have lots of maintenance with TT is if they don't do it right the first time.

When I had spacer, HFC, headers and dual exhaust I was amazed at the difference from stock. So if you have $ 2-3 K and want to change your G's attitude, that's a great start without going FI.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but getting the Kinetix Intake Manifold wont really reveal much of a power increase unless it is FI.

(again not positive so this is more of a question than a comment)

The Tech area of this site is a good place to start.
There's a ton of good advice as well as great people with a lot of experience.

Welcome to the other site.
1.valve body is a good choice if you want the trans to shift fast.I have one but i needed it cause with the greddy twins the trans could not shift fast enough and it would bounce off the rev limiter all the time.
2.procharger and vortech are both good choices but remember they are noisey at idle. The drawback with them is they dont produce hardly any real power until the upper mid range to high rpm.You will feel mostly stock the rest of the time.
3.skip any pulleys.
4.if you plan on going fi you cannot have headers with the turbos but you can with the centrifical s/c,s.
5.if you go the twins route you will be safe at around 9psi and about 400rwhp and 400rwt as long as you get the v/b and trans cooler and a t/c is not bad advice.
check www.forgedperformance.com for his greddy package deals.

Hey SuperchargedG, took your advice and decided to give this forum a shot, great advice btw. I want to go with the twin turbo's but that might be a little later, just to be a little realistic with when i want to get it...maybe in about a year. So for now what parts can i get so when i am ready to get the twin turbo's i can just buy the greddy twin kit and im good to go without anymore mods to worry about doing damage to my car and i can move onto my exterior looks of the car? Btw you've been the most help out of everyone on any forum i've been to, thanks bro.

Just took a lot at the twin kits on the forged website and wow... that's a lot of stuff that come with it, can't imagine what more i need. Oh yeah would i need to remove my 5/16 spacer and jwt pop charger/z-tube while preparing my car for the TT's?

No, you keep the spacer for TT. I have my Stillen headers sitting in a box waiting for someone who wants to stop short of TT. If that's you, shoot me a PM.

This is what i was really talking about it is a completet and ready out of the box except install and tuning.........i went with the stage 1 kit.You can keep the spacer but will have to sell the jwt and z tube as they wont work with the twins.
