Seat Lumbar Lacking?

Is it just me or does any one else feel the lack of lower lumbar support in the driver seat. When I do use the lumbar adjust it feels like more of a upper back support. I'm not a short guy, 5'9, and don't have any back problems. Could some of the seats be manufactured wrong? Never had any problems with my S2000.

I've never had a car seat that provides the necessary lower back support that I like, and the G is no exception. The lumbar support hits too high. I end up rolling up a small towel and using that.

Re: Seat Lumbar Lacking?

I remember reading in Car & Driver and the rave reviews they gave for the seat. When I test drove the car I didn't notice, to excited I guess. I even had the sales manager and service department take a look, but they thought nothing wrong. They did give me a number for an upholstery shop they have used before. Apperently the G35 is not the only Infiniti with poor seats. I'll post later after the fix.

Re: Seat Lumbar Lacking?

that....OR...

how bout the idea that not everyone's back in this world is the same...? Honestly...I do think the lumbar is a tad high...but that's me personally and I understand that everything in this world is not made for ME...and Infiniti is not going to design the seats for a whole fleet of cars so that they conform to MY back and no one elses.

You guys all need to stop bitching about this damn car. I'm not sure whether it's people who are used to luxury cars and find the G lacking, or people who have never had a luxury car and are complaining because they feel their expectations haven't been met. Boo Hoo ! Whey Whey ! It's a freaking car. If you guys don't like it, or can't stop bitching about it, then get rid of it. We all sound like a bunch of spoiled brats like the stereotype for owners of a competitor who will remain nameless. We drive a G, so we know we're spoiled anyway...no need to let the world know. If the G is not right for all of YOU, then go get something that is and be happy. Otherwise...enjoy this beautiful machine for everything it has to offer...

I wasn't "BITCHING" taylor.. just stating a fact. I love my car and have no problem using a small towel for extra lumbar support.. it's probably not the cars fault..but my backs fault. So cool it with the sour remarks

Cameron & Bryguy...my apologies as my response wasn't directed SPECIFICALLY at you...more like everyone on this sight who complains about ticky-tack things regarding the car...it's just getting old.

Yes, my back hurts after a while. Just like the driver's seat of the Chevy Venture of the vanpool.

Re: Seat Lumbar Lacking?

I only started this thread to see if it was just me or others also. My thinking is that IF enough people agree on this issue maybee there is a flaw in the seat design. Car manufactuers will not start a recall unless a number of people bring the car in for the same complaint. I'm not going to sell a car just because of the seat. I'm going to fix it myself, even if it is a couple of $$.

My seat is fine, passengers tell me it's the most confortable seat they've ever sat in. I guess it's really depends on your individual body shape. I don't think they will change the seats , although I hope they do and add memory seats.

Re: Seat Lumbar Lacking?

I feel the lumbar on my 2000 Maxima SE is too high too. I think Nissan needs better ergonomics work on their seats. I sat in Volvo'ss S60 and XC90 the other day ... talk about some comfortable seats. I know the seats in the coupe are cushy, but there's something about the ergonomics that's not all smooth. All Hondas (S2000 was great) and Toyotas feel right to me. I hope they do something before I buy my coupe.

Re: Seat Lumbar Lacking?

The passenger seat is far more comfortable than the driver's seat.

Re: Seat Lumbar Lacking?

Even though I'm 6-1, the lumbar feels a little high for me too. Would be nice if you could move the lumbar up & down as well as in & out. Also would be nice if you could adjust the bolsters on the back as well as the cushion. Being a little wide abeam and taller than most, I find that I fit in the sedan seats better than the coupe.

That being said, this car still ROCKS

The problem is that there are far too many "ticky tacky" things wrong for a car this price-mainly bad design, such as the seats, and a lot of corner cutting. I got one thinking it offered great value for the $$-there is actually less to this car than meets the eye.
