420 Mile a Tank
All these people swearing the tank isn't 20 gallons make me laugh. And the jokers saying they only get 200 miles to a tank need to specify how many gallons they typically put in at each fill-up. I have friends who are so scared to run their cars below a half-tank. They start looking for the closest station when they see that needle at the midpoint. I see the light come on.. watch the needle get closer and closer to the bottom line. Then, maybe about 50 miles after the light comes on is typically when I start looking for which station has the best price. If the one near work is too high, I'll drive the 20 miles back home to check the prices there and fill up.
I'm typically filling up between 360-390 miles apart. I put between 16.5 - 18 gallons in normally. I've actually broken 20 gallons by a tenth before the pump auto-shutoff kicked the pump off. (My old Sentra with a tank rated at 13.2 took 14.5 once before it kicked off.. XD )
I've had a Scangauge II for several months now and it's usually fairly accurate on how much fuel I've consumed. I also no longer squeeze fuel in to a round dollar amount because of it, and often frequent the same station and the same exact pump so it hopefully cuts off at the same fuel level in my tank every time.
Judging by the "fill up, drive, fill up and divide Gallons by the miles driven" method (very sound, especially when averaged over consecutive trips), I'm averaging 18.35 MPG, and I saw a few ticks shy of 22 MPG over 2 tanks that I drove uber-grandma style. My worst tank was 17.3 MPG.
I drive fairly heavy-footed and like to lay down a bit of rubber fairly often. I can't get enough of that exhaust note!

It's confirmed on mine...a lil stupid on me but oh well, glad i didn't get in an accident for my stupidity...367.2 miles-City only-the engine stopped running and I didn't have power steering what so ever..luckily I was near a gas station when this happened so I managed to have a good work out turning my steering wheel into it.
And yes, it was close to 20 Gallons when I topped it off...

Sunday Night: With a 2006 Coupe with 10k miles:
Filled up, then drove 52.7 miles in a fit of anger. Hard acceleration (shift 5k+) and very fast highway speeds(6th gear, rpm above 4500ish most of the time if not higher).. Stock everything. 19" forged rims, original tires. No mods or anything. I filled back up after my driving spree 3.343 gallons. Only use 93 octane. Averaged: 15.7 mpg.
Normal Driving
Shift from 2-4K and get to 6th quickly and cruise at 1400 rpm at 45 or so. I averaged from 6 tanks so far, 22.73 mpg.
so It all depends on how you drive and what modifications you have.

says the tank hold 20 gallons. My light comes on when i have about 300 miles on the tank. That is about 14 gallons, give or take depending on the driving style. So yes the E light comes on very early so that you do not run out of gas. 1 trip to Wilimington I got about 390 miles and filled up with about 17 gallons so that would average close to 22mpg.

I'm averaging around 18.5 mpg city (80% highways, but heavy traffic and stop/go) and 25+ mpg highway @ 75 mph+ (indicated) in my 2005 5AT (stock w/aero). Seems pretty reasonable, but I'm still learning to eke miles out of the car - just bought it in Jan 2010. So far the biggest problem is it's just so damn fun to mash the gas, and I can afford it...so I really have little idea what this puppy can do in a mileage run. And I'm not sure I want to!
I do about 80% city and get about 275-300 miles to the gallon. Btw. speaking of gas, it's tough finding a cheap but good 100% premium gas station. It's at the 2.94 mark as of yesterday. $50 a tank woo woo!
i'm about 70 city 30 highway, and i love to hard accelerate in the car, at 300 miles today I took the car to the pump and it put 13.7 gallons back in, so the car's sitting at around 21.
On non-aggressive starts, i usually shift at 10 (into 2nd), 20, 25, 30, 35 and then downshift the same way back down.
If I'm watching the rpm gauge i'll shift at 2000 rpm and I try not to go over... i'm willing to bet if I drove it like a granny I could get the mpg even higher, but then again that's not why I bought the car
lol

I got 410 miles out of 17.5 gallons, I was going to refill when i saw the yellow gas light, but rode it out for maybe 20ish miles with teh light on, and i pussied out lol and then i fill it up full tank, and it took 17.5 gallons to get it to 'full'.
So that is like what 23MPG? A little shy of 24? Although i drove that whole tank like a grandma on purpose to see what i could do.

I drive 90% highway 10% city and I drive pretty aggresive and I always get over 400 miles to the tank. Yesterday when I went to fill up I had driven over 430 miles since the last time I filled up, and put 18 gallons. I don't have many mods, check out sig.
