maybe i should drive my g more

i am fortunate to have a daily driver. i usually only drive my 6mtC on weekend, non-wet days. twice i did take it to work (120 highway miles round trip).

even though i only have about 1400 miles on it in 7 months, every time i step into it and drive it, i'm in heaven.

7 months old, still have the new car smell.
once the nice weather is here to stay, i'm sure i'll drive it more.

04 6mtC, DG - possibly most babied G on the board.

Wow better than me. 7 months and 1900miles. =) I don't travel too far and never drive it in bad weather that's how I keep the miles down.

Re: maybe i should drive my g more

I wish I could just keep my miles under a thousand a month. Sucks when the G is the only car that you own. Of course there is the explorer...but that car chugs gas and money is already tight so yeah. Anyways, I wish I could have a decent beater car like you guys. Although I probably would have put a little more miles on the G than you guys have.

Re: maybe i should drive my g more

Bad weather constitutes pretty much anything that includes getting moisture on any part of my car. This encompasses even really foggy mornings, any sort of light rain, any CHANCE of rain... O_o It's been rained on one time, and it was completely by suprise.

Besides that I get the worst mileage on my G ... WOT? prolly? haha... I'll prolly put more miles on it once I go to college. (one more year). =D

I always have this type of dilemma when I buy something really cool. My take these days is that life is too short. Enjoy the things you have to the max. Putting them behind glass or on a pedestal will not give you anywhere near the level of satisfaction as fully using the them. Cars are made to be driven and with very good care, your G should look great for years to come.

Re: maybe i should drive my g more

No offense, but I'd be like that only if I owned a Lamborghini or MacLaren SLR or something like that. If I could afford a Porsche or a Ferrari I would still drive it to work!

The G was designed to be a daily driver and sports car in one package... that's the whole concept behind this car.

Why suffer with the daily driver when you could have the G? That's like reading Playboy while up at the cabin for a weekend with your supermodel nymphomaniac girlfriend.

I guess one advantage is that your car will stay pristine with low mileage long after everyone else's have bitten the dust -- but by then I hope to be in some future generation G that will outperform the current one...

Like the brother said, life is short!

Re: maybe i should drive my g more

Hey I bought my G on August 30th....LOL!

I have a daily driver but I still put a thousand miles a month on my car. The wife and I drive it on the weekends. In fact we are going on a drive with a bunch of other G's today. Temecula to Idlywild this will be a blast. I know how it feels to save up the car then just ending up either selling it to someone who doesn't know jack about taking care of it. Or getting it stolen or wrecked in one way or another. Use it even if it's just the weekend I have 7k on my car and it's still smells new and always puts a big smile on my face.

I thought I was low mileage: 7000 miles in 14 months.

No offense taken; however, my G is like a Ferrari or Lamborghini to me. Everything is relative.

Re: maybe i should drive my g more

I once had the same thinking when it came to driving my G. Barely driving it in the weekdays, only on Fridays and the weekends. But after about 2k miles, i just couldn't take it anymore....I had to let her open up to me, let me know exactly what she has on her mind, and finally my foot connected with her Pedal, and after 6 months im at 7k miles.
I have a daily driver honda thats been chilling for the most part, G is getting all the action.
