Guys, im moving from Tallahassee, florida to Pasadena, California.
dunno anyone crazy enough to drive there and back just for a road trip. At least in the G. If I was going to do that, I'd either have a nice SUV for all my stuff with my friends, or something tiny that got incredibly good gas mileage.

I'm actually thinking about taking a road trip from Chicago to LA/San Diego this summer. But with the gas prices, it'd be way too expensive. Maybe renting a hybrid will be much much cheaper

We go on at least one road trip every year. All we take for the car are the detailing and washing supplies.

I bought my car because it looks great, performs great, and it is fun to drive on trips. A clear bra gives enough protection.
Of course our trips are only around 3,000 miles each the last two years and we are doing it again this year.
InTgr8r, Garnet Canuck, RBull and AthensBlueG all join in.

It's all about the driving, scenery and meeting people. Use the car don't look at it or cover it in ugly blue tape (unless it is a big time show car).

I have driven my G from NH to NC round trip 5 times. I do the 760 mile trip in one shot. Have to stop for gas a few times.

Thanks for the great tips. I actually clayed and waxed my car with zaino before i put the bra. I will definiteley remove it and clean it each day.

Yeah guys, im leaving tomorrow morning. I am mentally and physically prepare. I hope my car is the same. My car has 24k miles and I believe in tip-top shape. I will tighten my lugs, check my tire pressure, and already top all the fluids. I believe I do not have the famous oil lost issue, but we’ll see. I bring a bottle of mobile1 just in case.

And also I will take time driving. I will stop often. Probably I will drive for 8 hours a day max, but we’ll see.

I will also post a few pictures later and scan my gas recites. Wish me luck!

I will be driving from California to Alabama in a month and still can not decide whether that is a good idea. It will cost $850 to ship it but I don't know how well they will treat my baby. I am moving there with my fiancee and have to decide how to get there.

Trip prep....!

Sounds like a fun trip, just check the basics on your G..fluid levels..oil change..tire pressure and load up your surface with some good wax. Might
not be necessary to buy highest octane gas since your driving long distance.
At todays (Bush screwed us) prices this trip out here will cost you some major
bucks. Good Luck & Be Carefull! You'll like our weather much better than Florida....

Let's hijack this thread and blame everything on the government. I guess it's also their fault that all of those people bought way more house than they could afford. I believe the President co-signed all of those loans as well.

Parklife: Hope your trip is going well.

Exactly correct.

We just got back from a 2,600 mile round trip and are going to Arizona next week. Later this summer, we'll make the drive from NM to Michigan and back, with a very indirect route and many stops in between (probably another 4-5,000 miles).

The benefit, grasshopper, is in the journey - not the destination.
