A Few Questions about my new G

I have an 03 Laser Red coupe with all the options but navi as far as I know. But I've got a few questions. I would like to be able to post in the WTB forums but thats a ways off I guess.

The car has pin stripes that I hate. They aren't painted on and I'd like to pull them off. My only concern is the possibility that the paint is faded and under the stripes it won't be and it will look worse than with the stripes. At the moment the mirrors and spoiler are a tad bit faded but the rest of the paint (except for the commonly complained about chipping) is in pretty good shape. Any thoughts on removing the stripes?

Mine are grey on a red car and it looks terrible, not to mention all the old wax caked on them. Ugh. I want them gone, but I'm not sure if grey stripes or slightly brighter red stripes are worse.

use bumper sticker remover, and some fishing string or tooth floss, to remove.

its the same way as removing emblems.

I know how to remove them, thats not a problem. Several years ago though I had a 93 240SX and when i pulled stripes off the paint was obviously faded and left me with bright red pin stripes on my dull red paint. Thats more what this topic was about. Do you think the paint on an 03 G has faded enough to be noticable?

I would think the paint wouldnt be faded under the stripes. I have an 03 coupe and live in FL and mines not faded at all. Whats making your paint fade so quickly??

Hmm? I know it won't be faded under the stripes, thats the concern. I'm afraid that after 5-6 years of likely sitting in the sun the rest of the paint may be slightly faded. I've started peeling back a few of the corners and it looks ok. So I'll probably just do it one weekend when I get ready to do a heavy buff/polish job.

Well I went ahead and pulled the stripes while I was washing the car this weekend. Strangely enough the paint is a tad bit lighter under the stripes. Not very noticeable. I didn't have time for buffing so hopefully it will even out more when I get to that.
