found a way not to get car keyed

i found it at least in my area...
i went to downtown few days ago with my friends... each person drove their own car so we(4ppl) parked together in this order...
very left, 03 black civic SI and me(black gcoupe), 02 black BMW 325ci and 00 black civic EX
all of 3 cars were very very shiny... except me, i drove my g in the rain and didn't have time to wash it...
and when we returned, all 3 cars got mad keyed except my G!! except they wrote wash me on my hood with their fingers...
so i guess that guy was pretty pissed at shiny black cars?
and they wrote(of course with key) don't wash your POS on both civics...
hmm after this incident i'm actually thinking not to wash my g... cuz they will think it's not worth it to take risks of getting caught keying to a car that owner doesn't care...
what you guys think?

Re: found a way not to get car keyed

That really sucks! I hate people who can't respect other people's belongings. I haven't ever had my car keyed but I have had someone spray paint it. It was a black car and they painted their first name on the hood of my car. I was soooo mad, but luckily a friend of mine's Dad came out with a rag and a little bit of gasoline and it took it right off. As long as you get it while the paint is still fresh and wet (few days) it will come off. I was so excited I didn't have to have the hood re-painted or something.

Re: found a way not to get car keyed

I'm really sorry to hear the two cars got keyed, but that's not enough justification for not washing your car and keeping it maintained. There are always going to be people that don't respect and basically hate on others because they're too imature to deal with it. In all honesty, not maintaining the experience of the G would almost be a shame... you buying that car is mainly for its overall appearance and impression. Why even buy the car in the first place?

If you're really that concerned, just buy a POS junker that for sure no one will ever key

I want a security feature that records perps doing such actions. I'm thinking fisheye lens with motion/sound sensor, auto record and video storage in trunk. If nothing else, setup a sting and surveil area to catch them. I'd love to catch someone messing with my or anyone else's G.

Great to hear that your car didn't get keyed. Sympathy to your friends.

However, I completely disagree with your statement. Why would you neglect your car because of other people who don't have it? I keep my car clean all the time, because I know that it's mine. I can take pride in it. If you wanna protect your car, then perhaps stay out of high risk areas?
