For all the 5AT guys out there
window problem
Thanks for the replies guys. i love my tip tronic it shifts fast as hell too like yours. i also installed injen cold air intake, jet performance chip and groundwires. I have a new issue just happened a couple of months, the window on the driver side goes down half way or if you close the door, i brought it to the dealer and they replace the motor but after a couple of months it happened again! do you guys by any chance had a problem like that or hear from anyone? pls let me know cause i think does guys at the dealer maybe doesn't know what their doing.
Sorry I didn't reply I have been out of town for a couple of days at my grandmothers funeral. I do not have an engine cover like the post above stated it is a crawford plenum I said that in the post where I put up the photos.....lol. Anyways I just wanted to find out if I had a grounding kit. From the other pictures it doesn't look like I do. The car must either has something done to the tranny or I am just the luckiest SOB on the planet.
need help!!! i was on my way home from work when i about to open my car from my remote it wont unlock? then it wont lock... when i use the controls inside i can hear the click but the lock wont go all the way. the worst part is when i jump in the car to leave i noticed after starting the car my radio is on but the panel is off as if the lcd is off but music is running? then my ac switch is not working but ac is on and set to 75 deg. i disconnect the battery for 15min hoping reseting the ecu will work but it did not. guys anything you know about this problem? pls let me know thanks

So here's what I've noticed while driving around in the few days since I skimmed this thread.
If I'm really on the pedal, the shifts are quite snappy. Just taking it easy in traffic the shifts are nice and smooth, but take longer. I'd have to go through and read some more info about the transmission to be certain, but I'd bet that the fluid pressure that's used to engage/disengage the different sets of planetary gears inside the transmission is directly proportional to your engine speed.
Along the lines of this conversation, does anyone else get a slightly disturbing thunk going from 2nd to 3rd when driving in manual mode?
I've also got a shudder if I'm cruising at about 40 mph then lightly start adding throttle. It's documented in a TSB, but I'm interested to see how many folks it affects.

This might be a stupid question but what's the benefit of using the manual mode for an AT? When you're racing, doesn't leaving it in regular gear give it perfect shifting (max rpm with no redline)?

stop ******* your car out, bro, lol.
Shifting is crappy on mine. If i shift right around the 6400-6600RPM I go right into 7000 RPM. Here is a 0-60 I found *somewhere*; obviously done on an abandoned track in the Yukon which I saved for you guys (don't mind the crappy cellphone video with horrible audio in the background):
0-60
I would say probably around 5.9-6.5 seconds letting gas off 2nd gear. At night time it (well in the Yukon you can have really cold nights
) produced a lower one definately in the lower 6 second and possibly 5 second range; but at around 12-15 C temp.
Car is stock so 7 seconds on one with mods seems a bit wierd.
