Question do these cars really need the premium gas or can we put midgrade in them??

as the title says do these cars need premium gas or can we use midgrade. ive looked it up and according to everything ive read it wont really hurt the car. it might slow the performance by half a second on the 0-60. what is your input on this?

what's the difference, like .10 cents a gallon?

20 gal x .1 = 2 dollars per full tank. I would just stay premium.

get ready to get flamed for saying that.

why buy a G35 or a car for that matter if 2 bucks is a shiit load?

I'll start by saying, get a car you can afford and that means, gas, insurance, payments, maintenance, etc... Then I'll say, you can put it in but if it starts to knock because of the gas your going to have to switch back because the car will compensate by pulling the timing.

+1.

If you trully are a broke-a$$ college student barely making ends meet and struggling to survive, you'd be driving an old beater like a 10 year old Civic, Corolla, or Sentra.

Enjoy your car and all.. but don't complain about not being able to afford an extra $2 or $3 a tank when you drive a G35 at your age. Work an extra half hour a week at you job and that should make up for the difference.

I fueled up with an 89 octane once and I noticed a drop in responsiveness right away. I use premium all the time and it costs me about $114 Canadian dollars to fill my tank.

They tell you your car needs premium gas because the higher octane helps prevent knocking, which is needed on higher horsepower cars. If you don't mind a less controlled combustion in your motor, then go ahead, use lower octanes.

Buy a high quality machine.buy high quality gas.thats it.do the research in the owner's manual, before u mess up your valves or what ever happens,by putting regular or unleaded..needs premium.plus responds better..

Yup, sure are alot of haters on here. I must say that there are better ways of wording things then flaming people for simple questions. If you asked the question in person, they answer it without flaming, but on the net alot of people on the forums get a big mouth. When really they are
