I went to breakfast this weekend and then walked the Chevy dealership and looked at trucks - it was a nice morning.. They had a red Z06 too.

Most of the trucks on the lot were 2500s, and most were 4X4. Call it luck of the draw. Upper 20K to mid 30K on the stickers for most.

My frame of reference is my own truck, which is off the average. I have a 4X4 diesel and it was stickered at $42K back in 2004. The same truck today is $50K. My reference was skewed - I spoke incorrectly.
You're actually pretty much spot on. Majority of trucks fit two classes - work and leisure. What most people drive stickers at and above $30k. What work trucks sticker at are usually mid 20s or thereabouts. Any diesel truck I have owned has been over $40k. Diesel motors alone are what, a $6500 option? So, that $22k work truck jumps to almost $30 with a better motor...

save yourself the hassle and just siphon gas from vehicles that put premium gas in their tanks

Just deal with what you can afford at this instance.

If you can afford it get 91 or higher, if you can't well then don't since you can't afford it anyway.

Try This. 90-91 is perfect octane for peak performance and gas mileage. Fill the tank half with 93 and half with 87 or
half 89 and half 91 and you will have 90 octane all the time and save a significant amount per tank!

lol... 'a significant amount per tank'??? have you done the math??? a whooping $2 per tank, at most... but hey, if you feel that it's worth the hassle, then go for it, bro...

why is this thread still going anyway??? for those who will fill with 87 (nyg35fl) there is no talking them out of it (i just hope i never end up buying one of those cars)...

That same truck today might say 50k but they will give it to you for 35k when you say your willing to take it off their hands
