Noise when you turn off the car

each time i turn off the car it should like something is lose? make a noise for a sec after i turn off the car. Could it be the timing chain just coming to a stop?

I also get a somewhat loud rattle type sound when I shut the car off. Initially I thought is sounded like the exhaust vibrating or something but I'm not certain what it is. I've come to accept it as "normal".

I do remember coming across a thread where someone mentioned it was the transmission or the clutch if I remember correctly. Try turning the car off with the clutch depressed and then without it and see if it makes a difference. I haven't tried this because I don't get the noise everytime I turn the car off.

-edit- Here is the thread I was referring to

I have the same thing but from what I read on the forums it happens to alot of people and even the dealer says the chatter noise is normal. If you press on the clutch pedal you wont hear the noise.

hahahaha, no fix for this...

Alright, it looks like it's the clutch chatter. I had the clutch engaged and turned off the car...and no noise.

Thanks for the help all
