Hey guys,

I just bought a G35 last week and we had a bad rain storm last night, some of the highway was flooded, i guess i hit a big puddle cause i could feel it. I think i hydroplaned a little lol.

This is the end result.

It seems like the puddle pulled off my mudflap! Do you think the threads are messed up? Will i most likely have to use a self tapping screw now? Has this happened to anyone else? And i cleaned up the mess of Double sided tape/adhesive they used to put it on. Is that supplied if i buy new mudflaps?
How much does 1 mudflap go for? Are they painted already from the factory??

YOu won't need a self-tapping screw. When you order a new set of mudflaps, they'll come with threaded metal clips that the new mudflap screws go into. You wil have to slide the metal clip over a pice of plastic from the body that exists behind the black plastick splash shield in the wheelwheel, and then hold the new splash guard in place and screw it through the black plastic shield and into the metal piece.

It's all very easy, and the double-sided tape on the new splashguard helps to make it even easier to install by holding it in place for ya as you screw it in. In your case, you shouldn't even need to do any drilling since the holes from the old ones are probably still there(hopefully the force of the old one ripping off didn't damage the part that the metal threaded clip slides onto).

Straight. i will have to order it then cause i think i have an idea of what you say, i just have to see it(the hardware with the flaps) in person to install it! lol
