Why not MTF 5W-30????
It's designed for synchromesh trannies.

:edit:
NM... I see MTG is the spec viscosity & also designed for synchro trannies.

Redline fluid seemed to help cold shifts a bit. Smells like hell tho

The dealership is "confused." Service manual specifies any API GL-5 75w90 or 80w90 gear oil. Go with Amsoil SVG 75w90

Agree dealer confused (what else is new lol) Diff does NOT need friction modifier additive.

I remember reading somewhere Infiniti puts friction modifier in the differential fluid when brand new to assist break-in. Thereafter it is not required. Just make sure you have the correct APL rating. This goes for all Nissans.

Yup, MTGQT Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 for the transmission, Severe Gear 75W-90 for the diff.

Going to AMSOIL this week...

Still can't do the oil though - in the middle of OC test #3. I WILL DEFEAT THEM!

i put a differential fluid additive which i think was AMSOIL into my LSD on my 89 supra and it helped with chatter, i don't know if its good to put it in my VLSD on my sedan since it dosen't have clutches but some silicone mechanism instead, my diff isn't chattering but i'd like to keep it running better
