Re: quick delivery

Re: quick delivery
I was just quoted a delivery date of August for an April order from one dealer. I told him to get lost. This was after I talked to another moron at the same dealer the day before who claimed he had a car coming in 4/1 exactly the way I want it, but he'd have to call me back. Dweeb never did call me back, and when I called the dealership today, found out he was lying - that car already had an order from a customer on it.
Pretty pathetic. So far, I'm not impressed with Infiniti sales. Some are OK. BMW has a much better ordering and wait list system with their high demand cars. At least they don't list sold cars in their online inventory like Infiniti does. Even Chevy dealers have a better tracking system for cars on order and in transit.

Re: quick delivery
ZO6 - I totally agree with you. In late January I was told 60-90 days for my order. Which would be right about now. Now, its more like 90-120! Won't be seeing my car until June at the earliest! WTF? Why do they have to lie? They know exactly how many cars they get every month and where you fall in the wait list. I guess this new 'fame' is all new to Infiniti and I don't think they (the dealers) were prepared for this.
All good things to those who wait I guess.

correction anthony, they dont know how many they get allocated each month, although it is usually the same each month for most dealerships, some dealerships have varried monthly allocations, the dealership doesnt know how much they are allowed until the beginning of the month, then they reach over to the waiting list and place the appropriate # of orders.

Re: quick delivery
Yeah i wonder too...its probably the demand and geographical location of the dealership though
For example: the dealership here in detroit gets very little coupes, however i went there yesterday and i saw 20 FX's (SUV) in the parking lot.
Michigan=big SUV/Truck demand, not as much coupe demand right now

Re: quick delivery
The dealer is allocated a certain amount of cars per month depending on their over sales of the G35 line (Sedan and Coupe), the region they are located and the amount of total sales. I bought mine from one of the highest volume dealers on them west coast and the number 1 G35 seller in So. Cal. As a result when I walked on the lot a month ago they had 10 in stock. Since then the hype has gone up and the demand as well but they usually have at least two or three sitting out front. Most that come in are already sold though.

Re: quick delivery
sorry for not responding earlier. i was visiting the neighbor islands. i called the salesperson after i read your post. he advised ( for what's it worth ) that the model i received was a january model. he says production date plus shipping days
( 30 ) plus dock to dealer location ( approx 15 days ) = availability. and yes, someone did cancel ( same model & options ). original delivery date would have been mid may.
he also advise that the 04's will be available for sale in august. expect to pay $1500 above 03's price. only minor enhancements.
just a thought: if anyone has to wait till june or july, why not reserve and 04 for delivery in august.
aloha!
