HELP! New G but after storm, water into windows??

So we just had a storm and no water actually gets into the car until I open up the door and then water from the top window sill falls into the car? Is this just a problem and how the hell do I fix it?? The last thing I want is water in my car. Also, I am sure when I locked the car, the windows moved up a bit.

What can I do to prevent this? I really don't want to have to go back to the dealership in just 3 days :-(

The windows are suppose to move up after the door is closed -this "seals" the car.

The only way to stop water from getting in is to leave it in the garage during stormy weather.

Yes, I know that it "seals" the car. I knew that happened even before I purchased the car. I'm more worried about water getting into the car when I open up the door. I've never heard of that before.

ahahhahahahahah that happens to me too when its raining or if there is rain on the car.....its supposed to do that because of the way our doors and body shape is designed.....so if you don't want raindrops to go in...try opening the door very lightly as so only the window drops that 1/4 inch.....then open the door.....you should get less or no rain on those comfy leather seats !!~

You know... Is it only me that thinks this is VERY strange? I really have never heard of this happening before. When you open the door, does the window move down a little bit? My car was on a driveway angled up so I don't think I had a choice but to have the water go into the car when it opened. There's nothing I can do to prevent this instead of just opening the door really slowly? Chances are if I'm with friends they're not gonna know how to open the door right without me telling them. Since when was it science to open a door?

Well most cars now do not have that channel above the door that rusts after a time and causes wind noise. So the only thing you can do is go get another car that does have them.

Yup, one of the few things that annoy me and I live in Seattle (although it doesn't really rain THAT much). I just wipe it off the seat with my *** when I get in, not much else you can do other than wiping the water above the door off before you enter each time or moving to Southern Cali.

Re: HELP! New G but after storm, water into windows??

mine does the same thing..... allI do is run my hand over the top of the door to sweep away that rain so that it doesn't drip on my leather seats. If you do look at other cars, they have that water drainage channel, the G does not.
