Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

all you probably need to go 280hp to 300hp is prob a z-tube, pop-charger, upgrade/tweak the ecu, and maybe an exhaust upgrade. 20 extra hp at the crank won't be much at the wheels. i was planning on doing the upgrades anyways...

but if some of you are really into a horsepower increase, take a look at a supercharger...that's what i want to do later down the line

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

i just went in for an alignment at a local infiniti dealer and asked one of the salesperson about this. i was also told that the interior would get upgraded and might have the 300 bhp. so i guess its true...

20 at the crank is about 16-17 at the wheels, which should be noticeable.

Also, It'd be nice if you could start with 300, add the z-tube, popcharger, cats, etc. and get 320 instead of 300. You'd be fairly close to m3 territory with a few more mods.

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

I was in last month and spoke to the sales rep and have been contimplating this purchase for a year. I told him that I was concerned about changes to other nissan/infiniti cars - Altima and M45. I asked him if there were changes in 05 that would suck. He said he would talk to the regional rep who was visiting that week. The salesperson said there will be changes to the interior to what extent he can't say. He also said "if I were you I would wait." This was shocking since I would think that he would have wanted a sale that day. My thoughts are he would rather make me happy than pissed because then I could recommend him. Also I have been waiting a year.

Also about those who think the g won't get a new interior how old is the altima ... and how old is the g35 sedan. It is definately time for a refreshed interior. The best chance to stay ahead of the competition is to address the concerns/complaints about the interior.

" . . . . There will always be stronger and faster engines every passing year, so everyone should just enjoy their 03 and 04's and not worry about the 05's. "

- That is unless your in the market for a new G.

What 3 [bolt-ons to get to 300 HP] would you reccomend, and are any of them covered by infinti warranty?

If I'm not mistaken the Crawford plenum alone (about $600) adds about 16-20 HP. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Infiniti's HP gains in the 2005 G coupe are entirely from a redesigned plenum. And no, I don't think installing the Crawford would affect your warranty.

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

you think they might be bumping up the compression ratio a bit to achieve 300hp ??

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

Did you get any info on how many hp the sedan would be rated at. I think this is going to be true since the Alitma for 2005 going to have 250hp and they want to differentiate between their cars. Do you know any full specifics on what they add to make the car gain more hp. I am very happy with the 260hp but an extra 40 or even 20 hp would be nicer and good addon.

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

good news...

i see the Q/FX center console screen (navi and non-navi) going into the G, and the dash material from the fx following its way too...

the added HP is indicative of future awd plans , which, with added 400+lbs, is needed to not sacrifice perfromance...

the G is the last to step up and get the full inf. luxo treatment....

should be WELL worth the wait too...

-eS

btw, has anyone ever tested the gen1 g35's motor for real crHP numbers??? guess we'd need it out of the car todoso....

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

Esemes, the Q45 starts at $52,400. Would it not be more reasonable to expect something along the lines of the M45's interior? (Which is priced a little closer at $43,250). The interior of the Q looks quite expensive to me, compared to other cars in the $32k - $40k range. (But, I hope your right, and I'm wrong.)
