I dunno if Carvey or someone's posted the official line on the 05 Coupe yet, but we had a factory rep in here last week and this is the official (read that as "if Infiniti didn't want it on the street, they wouldn't have told me about it") line:

*300 HP at the crank--details on how it was achieved haven't been released...my shop foreman seems to think it won't be anything that we can't correct

*Interior styling--bye bye plastic bits and pieces (I should say "the cheap" stuff) and titanium-look trim that scratches all to hell

*Front fascia--being redone to make a lil more aggressive...rumour has it (factory rumour, that is) the plastic "lattice work" will be gone (thank God for that...)

And that's all I was able to pin him on...of course, he did confirm...the R35 will be badged Infiniti and launch the badge as a global concern...AWD, four wheel steering, 400+ HP and a price tage enough to make you get a real job...

Wait...so the things that are listed came from an Infiniti Rep? If this is true, i am going to pee my pants. I was talking to my local infiniti dealer today and they will start taking orders next month for the 2005s.

 

All of that sounds logical and very resonable. Think it could be done without raising the price more than $1000.

Also, please forgive my ignorance but when you say 'Front fascia', what exactly are you refering to?

Realistically those points dont seem that crazy. 20 extra horsepower, updated interior, and updated front bumper.

i believe dfw grubbs infiniti pretty much stated the same things for the 2005's except for the hp increase. at this point, don't believe anybody or any source cuz it's pure speculation. this topic has been circulating since february and it keeps changing. i had my hopes up and now i just give up and will wait till the summer when it's official.

Is Steve still the service manager there? I hope not because as long as he is there, my car will be going to Cresent City Infiniti for service. And that would really suck because Infiniti of Baton Rouge's new location will be within 3 miles of my house.

My local dealer will start taking "official orders" from mid-late june/july. they already have one pre-sold '05.

 

I just hope that there is a way to bring the 03 and 04's up to 300 bhp fairly easily and at a decent price.

What 3 would you reccomend, and are any of them covered by infinti warranty?

 

i looked over at clubg35, and they had a shot of the 2005 g35 sedan, and the front seems to look the same.
