I Meant the 'fx' interior materials (which is quite nice, IMO).... the fit and finish, and the 'ryno' skin-surfaces are what i expect to see (as well as the integrated hvac/navi screen setup, and increased buffeting... (fx35 is very much the s/a the 45)

time will tell, but i am pretty sure......

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

The thought of trading in my G for 20 HP more is kind of like thinking my G isn't good enough anymore or it's somewhat "disposable" or not up to par in some way. I just can't think like that. Trading my baby in for an extra 20HP just doesn't quite sit well with me.

If I'm not mistaken the Crawford plenum alone (about $600) adds about 16-20 HP. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Infiniti's HP gains in the 2005 G coupe are entirely from a redesigned plenum. And no, I don't think installing the Crawford would affect your warranty.

For the record, the Crawford Plenum claims 11 rwhp on Crawfordzcar.com.

The 3 bolt-ons are the Crawford Plenum, RT High Flow Cats, and the Z-Tube. The plenum and cats are not covered under warranty and the High Flow cats may/maynot be legal (depending on how you use the car ), but those are the 3 being referred to. One might argue that the Z-Tube is covered under warranty because the 350Z has the same VQ35DE (engine) that the G35 does, so how could their intake tube cause an non-warrantied problem?

FYI- the crawford plenum costs $395 (if you mail them back your plenum, it is $595 if you keep your stock plenum). The RT cats cost $500 and the Z-Tube is under $100. That's $1000 for 20 hp which is much better than taking the hit on the trade-in IMO.

Happy Modding...

301-bhp!!! ...and growing!

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

The HP increase and exterior changes can probably be made on any 03-04 coupe. I seriously doubt they are changing anything dramatic. If you end up really loving the new facia, I am sure they will be available and fit perfectly. Even if they offer projector HID's you could probably swap the entire sealed housing.

The interior will be the only major change you would need an '05 to have. Personally I don't dislike my interior enough to trade-in the entire car and take a huge hit.

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

The HP difference really doesn't make me worry (I'll have around 315ish at the crank after the Kinetix plenum is installed) nor does the changing of the interior, but I would be pissed if there are any changes to the actual "look" of the car, including a new front facia and/or projector headlamps...

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

blah..honestly for some reason the interior upgrade is the one i'm really getting jealous about. SO basically is it "all" the parts that were plastic being replaced with the aluminum? Or only some of them? The plastic parts on my drivers side door is already minor scratched. Another question also is for the parts that ARE getting replaced with the aluminum....can the previous plastic ones be replaced with the new?

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

the interior is the only thing getting to me too. the hp gains are easily done by ourselves.

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

yeah easiley done to 20hps BUT my question is this, will it void the factory warranty or not?

cuz a lot of us who is considering 2005 over the previous model because IF it does come with 300hp, that means we get 20hps WITHIN warranty <~ and that's what attracting me!

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

It's not just the 20hp...the reason I'm considering trading in is mainly because of the interior. I'm sick of the easy scuffs, the rattles especially over bumps, the cheap feel of the buttons and switches, and the retarded right-hand-drive layout of the controls. Fixing those things would make the G pretty much perfect in my eyes.

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

if the change in the exterior is something like projector lamp, i might consider retro fitting it

i just hope they dont change the design much. at least minor enough that is retrofitable

from earlier rumors were that the sedan will get the nismo kit as standard equipment, maybe thats what the aggressive front fascial is all about

Re: 2005 Coupe Hard Facts

That's sweeeeet.... love the fog lights

I'm going to buy a 2005 model this fall, by the way.

Hoping for an improved interior, and hoping they don't change the wheels.

I think if the new G looked like that... I'm going to love my G (with the grill) about a million times more...
