hey guys .. i have a problem.. its been like the fifth day i have had this car... and everytime i roll up into my garage... i get this weird burning rubber smell.. wehn i turn off the car... is this common or is there something wrong.. the car is perfectly new.. and im not driving with my emergency brakes on either... i dont know whats the problem... reply with feedback... thanks

 

That's probably the new car burning smell (brand new plastics, rubbers, hoses etc.) That'll go away after a couple of weeks.

 

Yeah mine did that too. Its just the car breaking in. Oh, and lay off the Mexican food for a while.

 

there was a post about this before
basically someone did some research and found out that our new engines come with this clear protective coating, and when you run your car this coat will burn, and eventually burn out, it's just a protective measure by the factory.
anyway so you know there is no problem with your car regarding this issue, and the smell will go away after you put some milage on your car.

i could swear i remember reading on here that the protective coating was on the muffler...
doesnt matter though....the smell is normal...at least for the first week

Sometimes the pads drag a little. It will go away after a few days of driving.
