Help side moldings....

i recently just purchased my g35 and it has side moldings i was wondering if i could take them off and not mess up the paint. I just dont want any holes like on my integra when i took off the moldings and have to deal with filling it in. can someone help me out.. thanks

Side moldings can be removed just like debadging the trunklid, it just takes
longer....much longer! Do a search on debadging, you'll find several posts....LOL

I think if you have a coupe they are just stuck on but if you have a sedan they are drilled in.

yeah i have a coupe i'll try to take them off.. just dont want any holes

Just leave it out in the sun all day, and then go at it with fishing wire by sliding the wire under and pulling it across while pulling up the side moldings (Depending on how cold it is, you might need a hairdryer). I live in Arizona so I was just able to do it by peeling them off, since it was like 110* outside. Also, I used goo-gone to get off any remaining residue and just washed and waxed it alot around there to make sure it looked good.

i live in cali so there should be plenty of sun i hope.... give it a try tomorrow and ill let u guys know the outcome thanks.....

I took mine off on my coupe no problem.. just make sure u heat it up PROPERLY dont rush trust me.. or u WILL peel some of the clear coat.

There is also something you can buy at any bodyshop or paint dealer. It is a giant eraser, that is round and fits onto a drill. Once you get the sides off, just run that over the left behind tape and it will come right off.
