Good decision.... You won't be disappointed.

2003-2004 6MT's and Auto's have a VQ35DE producing 282 peak HP and 269 peak TQ at the crank.
2005-2006 6MT's have a VQ35DE Rev-Up version producing 298 peak HP and 258 peak TQ at the crank.
2005-2006 AT's have the same VQ35DE non-Rev up motor as the 2003-2004 6MT's, producing 282 peak HP and 269 peak TQ at the crank.
2007 6MT's and AT's have the VQ35DE Rev-Up producing 298 peak HP and 258 peak TQ at the crank.

Good Night Wiz, you should have all the information you need to buy a G35
after 6 pages. If not buy a 350Z.....

get the 6mt because manual transmissions are a dieing breed. 5 years from now you may not be able to find a new sports coupe with one. if you change your mind, the 5at is an at designed for the driving (gear ratios, shift logic). it is a far cry from the at in a TL, for instance, which is geared for passivity.

The only time I wish my 06 was an auto was 2 weeks after buying it. I had foot surgery and had to let the car sit in the garage for 6 weeks! It was literally hell to walk by the car everyday and not be able to drive it. Luckily my husband had just bought his salesman a new truck so I drove his old Intrepid during that time. Add insult to injury by having to drive a beater with a new car in the garage! MT, in my opinion gives you more control over the car, I have been driving for many years and have never had an automatic.
