I'm trying to decide between the two transmissions. What are the pro's/con's of both in terms of performance modding? Also, does the manual mode of the automatic give the same kind of performance and experience as a manual tranny?

A 6MT is a lot more fun to drive.. But sometimes, I wish I'd gotten a 5AT, especially in 5pm traffic!

But if you into modding, I think you'd be happier buying the manual!

 

To be perfectly honest, if you don't know which one to get, get the auto.

An true dedicated MT driver wouldn't even have to think about it.

get the 6mt!!! or youll wish you did in 6 months from now...

i live in northern NJ (3rd worst traffic in USA) after LA and washington DC area.....i never ever think i should have gotten an auto...ever...

I love my 6mt, Its a PITA on heavy traffic days or when Im rolling to DC but whatever..., I wouldnt change it for the world.

 

Why everyone afraid of traffic with 6MT .... Try that with a motorcycle =)

 

Get the manual. It's my only regret on this car.

 

Number 1 reason to buy a manual, its fun.

Number2- 0-60: Auto-6.2 6MT-5.4

Of course 0-60 isn't much, but it's still a big difference.

 

If you're asking yourself this question now, you will be kicking yourself in the A$$ in 3 months if you buy the auto. Go with the 6MT... I guarantee you will not regret it in any way.

I have an auto and i drive in tip all the time. It gives more of true sports car, fun, feel. When I'm just cruising around i wish i had a 6mt but there are a lot of times, like when i'm on the phone, or in a rush and eating my dinner or what ever in the car that I'm glad i have the auto option.
