TPMS question
my buddy is gonna let me borrow his g37 wheels so i can paint my oem 19's but they dont have the tpms on them anymore since they took them off to put them on his new wheels. will there be any problem if i put the g37 wheels on for like 3 days even though they dont have the tpms anymore.

When I put on my winter snow tires, which do not have the TPMS, the light will go on after approx. 30 mins of driving. Once I shut the car off, it stays off until I drive continually for 30 mins.
When I put my OEM 18"s back on....the system works fine. There is no need to worry about the TPMS needing to be reset....you didn't change anything. You just temporarily removed the factory wheels.

TPMS answer....!
I'm on my third set of wheels with the same tps, once you put your wheels
back on that dash warning will go off in a very few miles. No need to visit
the stealership although they'll take your $ if you wish to....

Tire Pressure Monitoring System...
Its a sensor mounted inside the OEM rims which tell you if your tire is losing air or low on pressure...... It all part of the stock aluminum valve stem.
1.) It cannot detect/find the sensors after 30 minutes of driving.
2.) One of the sensors is detecting low pressure
For 1, simply turning off the engine and turning it back on, will clear the light.
For 2, you need to address the low pressure state. ie, the light will not clear unless the ECU detects an "ok" condition for at least 1 mile.
I've never had issue for the 4 years I've had my aftermarket rims. Light would only turn on after about 30-50 minutes. But would be off when I restarted the car.
Only time something happened, was the one time I was in the garage warming up the car... My old rims (with the TPMS) are stacked in the garage. I never checked the air in them, and it was in the middle of winter... My light turned on, and the chime went off.... Light would not turn off no matter what I did or how far I drove.
So I checked the old tires, and sure enough, one of them only had 25psi in it... However the light still wouldn't clear. I didn't feel like mounting the old wheels to clear the light, and I sure as heck wasn't going to the dealer to pay them to clear it... So after putting air in all the old tires, I put the wheel in the trunk of my G. I folded down the seats, and put two more wheels in there. And I put the fourth one on the passenger seat. (I put the wheel in a plastic bag)... Then I just took the G on a short trip around the neighborhood... Light turned itself off after about 1 mile. Got home, and put all that crap back in the garage. I inflated the tires up to 40psi just for good measure before storing them.
I now check on them once a month to prevent this hassle in the future.
