6MT Shifter Kick?

6MT Shifter Kick?
I recently purchased a used 2004 G35 6MT coupe (50K miles). After coming from a 540 6 speed, I have to say this car is amazing. I look forward to modding it, and posting on this forum.
Everything seems very sound on the car, but I noticed an issue that I am curious about. In any gear if I completely let off of the gas in gear, then re-apply it, the shifter kicks slightly. I can feel it if I lay my hand on the shifter with no pressure. It isn't just the vibration because it kicks toward further-in-gear (forward in 1, 3, and 5, rearward in 2, 4, and 6). I can even see it slightly if I don't touch the shifter. It doesn't grind and the clutch isn't slipping, although the clutch has late engagement (seems normal from my searches here). My thoughts are motor or tranny mounts, but maybe this is normal? It seems like engine torque takes slack out? It occurs even if the accelerator is press slightly from a coast. Thanks for your thoughts.

I do notice very slight movement on my shifter when letting off accelerator and back on, but I wouldn't really describe it as a strong kick.... Our shifter doesn't shield vibrations well at all, so it's possible that it's normal.
On another note, what are your driving impressions of the G vs. your 540? I considered the 540 before buying the G, but didn't want to fork over that much money for the car and BMW out-of-warranty repairs down the road...

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe it is just normal.
I think the G is a great platform. The chassis is great, and the engineering seems phenomenal.
I do miss the torque of the 540. It had grunt unlike the G. If only I could match the motor of the 540 with the chassis of the G... That said, I wouldn't go back. The maintenance involved with the bimmer was insane. It was a very "glitchy" car. I am hoping the G is a more reliable car.
