I know exactly what you're talking about

 

My G is DG and I have 5% on the sides and rear with 50% on the front windshield for UV protection on the dash and roadhead haterade protection while im driving ..... In low light backing into a parking spot I usually have to roll the windows down but other than that no complaints....

 

i need to tint mine sooo bad... i hate the factory tint...

 

Yea....I know how cool dark tint looks on our cars, but I won't give the
cops another reason to pull me over. So when you guys with everything
below 35% get a ticket don't come on Driver with your whinny complaints
and cry baby attitudes telling us the cops are jerks....it's your choice!

People who are to scared to put 35% or lower shouldnt even tint their cars. Honestly if your not doing something stupid that makes them want to pull you over or as long is not a town where they ticket you no matter what kinda tint you have youll be fine. What we dont need is people who were afraid to go darker than 35% and to keep complaining on driver how everyones gonna get a ticket

My town is strict on tint and I would cruise around in a bright red BMW with limo tint all around. I got pulled over ONCE in my entire life for tint. The cop asked me "Isnt your tint a little dark?" so I told the officer "Why, yes, yes it is." The cop gave me back my DL and proceeded to leave.

 

Huh....? What was that....you need to check back into recovery!

Yea Pearl, we have heard this from you before but this is just your opinion.
Why then did I get stopped JUST for tint 4 different times on the 210 FWY
by the CHP? They didn't write anything else and it was only 15% not that
dark. It was however dark enough to catch their attention and apparently
that's what they were looking for over a 5 year span. I could care less if
you paint your windows black, just don't tell the member here it's alright
to go with 5% tint. Law enforcement needs to be able to see who's
driving your vehicle, if they can't you'll receive a violation regardless of
what city you live in.

Did I say it was "alright" to do so? No, I said do it if you want but you know the cops better in your own town than others. People know that tint is illegal we dont need people like you saying that everytime someone asks if they should or not. Hell, putting clear corners on your car is illegal if it didnt come that way from the factory. People know the risk but if its what you want then go for it. To many people chicken out and go with 25% or higher and later regret not just going with the 10 or 5%. If your gonna get a ticket for 35% youll get a ticket for 10% so might as well have 10% on there the whole time right?

 

i think you would crap yourself more if you were walking up to a crappier car that is more often used by dangerous criminals. not cars that cost 20-30k used.

and hey its their job choice, they arent forced to do it. accept the downsides and dangers of your jobs.

 

I recommend you get tints 15% or lower, especially since yours is black. I have 13% on my black coupe and it adds a lot to the look. My vision is decent at night and have yet to get a ticket.

 

yea i know but criminals drive nice cars to mostly drug dealers but some dude might be a little off and have a 45. pointed at the cop threw his dark windows
