Hi all. I recently purchased my 2006 G35 Coupe (Black). It's an amazing car. I wanted to tint the windows to 10%. For a 20K+ performance luxury car, would this be a tacky move? I want a lot of protection from the sun as the summers here are excruciating, and I thought the black windows would go well with the black exterior. It also will protect the interior from sun damage and fading. I was also thinking about a black strip on the windshield but decided against it because 1) It already has a factory sun 'strip' and 2) it may look kinda tacky.

Should I consider 20% or 15% as well? Does anyone have pictures of their G's with 10%?

My old car (2001 Honda Prelude) had 5% and looked wonderful with the blue paint. It was really dark though, esp at night

Do 10% all around it will look clean, espcially on black.

my buddy even had his front windsheild of his G tinted 35% which looked good.

I had the 5% on my Prelude and got used to it after a while. Assuming 10% is half as dark, I should be okay. Again I feel 10% may be slightly extreme for a nicer car but I do miss my dark windows.

No problem seeing at all. My BMW had 5% all around and I didnt have trouble seeing through that. I supposed its personal opinion? Trust me if you love your dark windows go with 10% or youll just wish you had later.

Dark windows on our cars looks so good. I got 15% all around but im considering going to 5%. You will like whatever you choose tho because even 35% looks good.

I got 5% all around on a black coupe.. Looks freaking sick expcept for that built in "B" pillar is lighter than the rest of the tint so it stands out and looks tacky in certain lighting.

 

Hey vhtran, I had 5% on my RED BMW for over 3 years and NEVER got a ticket. Aren't people like you looking for friends? and then when you realize you dont have any come on here and troll other peoples threads with unwanted posts?

 

If getting pulled over for tint isn't a problem where u live I say go for it. I'm not sure how dark my windows are but it looks good, I have to worry about cops though....the po here have nothing better to do.

 

Yours is darker than 5%, I LOVE your tint.. You have at least 3%, if not 1% tint..

I got 5% and I can easily see through my rearview mirror at night and daytime.. With yours you cant see as easily as mine lol
