Gas light and gallons remaining

How many gallons do you usually have left in your tank when your gas light goes on? It seems mine always turns on and when I go to fill it up its only like 14-15 gallons to fill it up meaning I should still have like 5-6 left? How about you guys?

when mine comes on, it usually takes about 15 (if i go immediately) to 16.8 gallons (if i wait till the thing says i have 3 miles left till empty) to fill it up.

Looks like you have a coupe, so moving this to the coupe sub-forum so you get a meaningful answer.

maybe, but probably different mileage .....

Incidently, my coupe was like yours: gas light on> 4-5 gallons remaining.
If you have the navi, on mine after displaying ' **** ', I could go at least another 60 miles!. (altho I wouldn't recommend doing so.)

I was told years ago to never let it get below 1/4 tank to keep trash from being sucked from the bottom of the tank....

Why push it....you guys are nuts!

Why would you let your gas gauge get that low? I've only run out of gas
once in my life and that was because I was thinking about hooters rather
than what my car was doing, oh yea I was tired too. If I'm driving on a
trip like L. A. to NorCal I don't let it get much below 1/4 tank before I'm
looking for a station....common sense!
