is there a difference in the sound between a popcharger+ Z-tube than the popcharger by itself?

 

I would imagine so, as I heard people have noticed a difference in sound by just putting the Z tube by itself. So there must be some difference in tone.

z-tube has no resonator so its straight pipe so the flow is faster and makes a nice tone along with HP pickup...

Yes, there would be a slight difference with the Z-tube. However, you'd probably only notice it if you drive the car on a pretty regular basis.

sry everythingg35, thats completly false....
most of the sound change comes from the Ztube as your getting rid of 2 big resonators. The Popcharger does get rid of one resonator but the deep growl at 3500+ RPM comes from the Ztube and only the Ztube. The Popcharger may add a "little" more growl but the only real sound difference would be the whistle sound.

So if you were to randomly install a pop charger on someone's car they wouldn't notice, but if you were to install a Z-tube they would?
Yes there is a sound difference with the Z-tube, I'm not trying to argue there isn't one, I'm just saying it's not a night and day difference, when compared to some other modifications out there (like an exhaust or something similar). With something like that, someone who doesn't drive a G35 would be able to tell a difference....

Out of curiousity, did you install both items at the same time on your car?

I put the PC on first because the ztube was backordered.

Didn't notice a big sound difference. Maybe a little whistle.

The next day the ztube came (thanks!!).

BIG difference above 3K. I think it transforms the car. I love it.

I noticed the change in sound over 3500rpm from the Z tube - its like a deeper grumble.

I don't have the pop charger so I can't say what the difference is from that.

If I'm interpreting correctly, he's saying you WILL notice a difference in sound with the Z tube replacement alone, but you WILL NOT notice a difference with the popcharger installed alone.

thats exactly what im saying...

yes everythingg35, i installed both at the same time (with DED) but Iv heard it without the Popcharger and DED had it without Ztube. The Popcharger offers very little sound change while the Ztube offers a tremendous sound change above 3.5k RPMs while staying the same at idle and low RPMs

Anyone who has never ridden in a G35 cant possible notice a change cause they have nothing to compare to but if you have ridden in a stock G ONCE then you will know whether someone has the Ztube or not.
