OFFICIAL "What Mods Should I Buy for my Coupe?" Thread
I'd stay away from megan racing(poor quality), no underdrive pulleys(lightweight flywheel has bigger gains and is safer), no cai(z1 ztube and K&N will yield same gains), get a true dual exhaust(won't need a ypipe), motordyne ART pipes, don't get headers unless you do cams too(ppe long tube headers show huge gains with cams), and I believe the cobb AP only works for the 03-04 ecus but I could be wrong. Pretty much everyone here will tell you to go with Uprev for tuning... and sway bars will help a ton more than strut bars for handling. Sways are probably the #1 mod for the price with these cars. It's night and day difference
I have a question. I have an 05 coupe and it has the sport tuned suspension. The sway bars look pretty beefy, would I still benefit from getting some aftermarket sways and if so I assume hotchkis is the way to go?
Also if anyone with more experience than me (meaning pretty much everyone lol) has other good ideas for starting mods and full bult ons and also N/A builds (minus internal work) please share
You are going to end up spending 3K for an NA build when you could just buy a used kit for 3-4K and build it for a few more... With much more horses. If your low mileage you won't need a built motor right away

Yes yes i understand this, but i just wana do a N/A build. Dont ask y. Just what i want to do.
That kind of mod is because you want it, not because it's "worth" it; because it never is.
It's a need and a want mod. Road to my house is horrible, but I want the low aggressive look for driving on paved roads

Hey yall im new here. I just ordered some new rims and tires. Dont have a car yet but im buying another G when i get back to the states. I had a sedan when i was 17. Just a quick list of starter mods, also i wana get a coupe, any imputs on what i can change out with other brands and stuff let me know. Opinions welcome...
Megan racing coilovers (BC Racing has been good to me- not the best... not the worst)
Megan racing catback exhaust (Stillen was probably the best sounding I've heard)
Megan racing headers (delete unless cammed like mentioned)
Y pipe (reccomended brand?) (delete)
Test pipes (recomended brand?) (BERK Ceramic coated)
Injen CAI with bypass filter (hmmm?)
Unorthadox underdrive pulley kit (already addressed)
Cobb tunning accessport (out of the G35 / 350 game now... no / little support. Osiris instead)
Front/rear lip & side skirts (recomended brand?) (authentic, whatever it is)
Short throw shifter (recomended brand)
Strut bars (recomended brand?) (hmmm)
Sway bars (recomended brand?) (Motordyne)
Motordyne 5/16 spacer
Motordyne Mrev2 (might not be needed depending on the year... minimal gains non rev)
