Hey guys I'm new to this and was wondering what mods I should do to my 2003 g35 coupe. It already has a short ram intake and a resonator delete but I want more power

 

I'm stumped, usually a cool shirt adds about 50 hp on the butt dyno.

Why would you have a resonator delete? That just makes your exhaust sound raspy. And that sort ram is nothing but marketing and does more harm than good since your motor is now breathing hot air from the engine bay.

IMHO, if you really want more power, skip the bs and go boost. If you want your car to move faster, then upgrade the suspension bits instead.

Can we make a suspension thread that explains these things for new users or something? I mean I've looked under my suspension and I still don't know why there are so many parts sometimes .

 

You're acting like new users will find that thread before asking the same questions....If they can't find the suspension Stickys now, there's no hope for them

 

Exactly. I've already created and/or answered a ton of new threads with the same questions. I'm done. A lot of these threads are useless.

 

Here's a solution that may help new AND old users of this forum. Before you start modding your car, get to know your car. Research aftermarket manufacturers and the products they sell. Go to other forums that maybe relevant to your car and what you want to do and read what others have done and what brands and products they used. Learn about different manufacturers that make products for your car i.e. Tokico, Bilstein, Rotora, BC Racing, NWP, K&N, Exotic Speed, HKS, Motordyne, Tanabe, the list goes on and on. Yes, there's a wealth of knowledge here but, not everyone is going to be kind enough to keep answering the same questions over and over.

If your answers can't or wont be answered here, Google it. That what search engines are for. They will not only give you the products your looking for but, articles from those that have gone down the road you're traveling now. For example, I was looking to upgrade the brakes on my 05 6mt coupe. I looked at Rotora, Wilwood, Stoptech, Brembo, and others. I finally decided to go with Akebonos. Why, simple, they are good brakes, everybody makes upgraded pads for them, if I need parts I can go to my local Nissan or Infiniti dealer without the wait, McClaren uses Akebonos on the McClaren P1 (no not the same setup Infiniti and Nissan uses), they look great and are a huge upgrade compared to my factory 2 piston setup. Again, the list goes on and on. More importantly, when modding your car do some homework, research the web for all your answers. It will be alot easier and less stressful from members on this forum. 5/16" plenum spacer or 1/2" spacer? I've heard of a lot of people buying the 5/16" but wouldn't the 1/2" be better?

 

I think 5/16 was the diminishing point of gains.

 

I'd go with the 1/2" spacer.

Going with a larger plenum spacer is not necessarily better. The spacer works by giving just enough extra space for the air moving through there to flow smoother. Increasing that space too much can decrease pressure, or something like that. But in truth, you won't see or feel any difference between these two. If anything, the 1/2" just takes up more space under the hood for no good reason.
