New to these boards, few questions

Hello boys and girls,

I just recently purchased a 2007 G35 after trading in my 07 Cadillac CTS.

It was a toss up between a 2009 Accord V6 coupe and the G but I feel like I made the right purchase in the end.

I have a few questions that I couldn't answer by searching.

When driving for an extended period of time my exhaust starts making the "snap, crackle, pop" noise it makes when cooling down, however it's while the car is running, and is quite loud. Is this normal? I have never had a car that made noises like this while the engine was running.

Also, my drivers seat is rocking slightly back and forth. Is there an easy fix? Or should I take a gander down to my local dealership for warranty?

Thanks.

P.S. Unfortunately it's a AT, it is almost impossible to find a 6MT (that doesn't have insanely high km) around here, so I settled for the AT, I'm wishing I had waited...driving an automatic sports coupe is half the fun...oh well.

My seat rocked as well. There was a TINY crack on the frame of the seat that was the cause. I just had it welded, problem solved.

Not sure about the exhaust.

About the exhaust: From my experience, it shouldn't do that, same for the seat. However, this seems to be rather easy, as it seems you're still under warranty. So just take it in! Worst comes to worst, you'll have a loaner car to drive for a few days.

Oops, didn't pay attention to year. Yeah, if you're under warranty take it to the dealer. Not sure what they will do on the chair though since they might consider it "wear and tear".

Thanks for the quick reply, yeah I am still under warranty. I'll have them check it out. I'm just curious what could be causing the noise...?

lol wear and tear...they'll cover it under warranty unless they want a sh!tstorm. A seat should never rock and creak...not a 2006 with 10,000K...

Can't really tell the noise from the exhaust, could be numerous reasons. But the chair's mechanical workings definitely fall under warranty repairs. It's the leather that's considered "wear-and-tear".

Welcome. Post up some pictures when you get a chance. And about the AT I hear ya. I couldnt find a MT with low miles in my area either. Their are things you can change tho such as driving in Manumatic and a VB upgrade will bring quicker shifts. AT isnt that bad tho especially if you drive alot and catch traffic sometimes. Enjoy the car im sure you will its a fun car to drive.
