New To The Infiniti World.. Got Quesitons?

Hello
I recently purchased a 05 G35 Coupe 6MT with 29k on it,love the car, only had it for 3 days. I got a couple of problems, first it must be a exhaust leak because when u hit the gas in any gear u smell exhaust inside the car. Second, when in gear if I come off the gas i hear a clicking noise, its real fast sounds like someone shaking marbles under the car. Third, when turning off the car it makes a rattle noise after the car is off like something winding down. Since i bought the car used I have no idea on how the warranty works if there is any warranty left on the car. This is my first purchased car and im kinda when it comes to problems. Help out if you can
Thanks

Challanges of buying a used car....!

Take your car to the closest Infiniti dealership and see if you have any warranty left. Most of the problems you listed can be fixed under warranty and are common issues. I'd get the issues fixed soon, smelling exhaust fumes is not good! I believe the rattling noise is in the rear end and can be fixed by lubrication. The noise your hearing after the car is shut off is strange, I've only heard that when the timing was off and not in modern day cars with injection and computers. Good Luck, hope you have warranty left!

The shut down sound could just be normal timing chain sound.

Did your previous car have a timing BELT rather than a timing chain? If so, the sound of the timing chain on shut-down will seem unusual to you. I know it did to me when I got my first G.

Have someone turn it off for you while you look at the engine w/ the hood open. That'll help.

The other stuff sounds like things to get checked out.. especially exhaust in the cabin!!

this has happened to me with a different car. All these issues are signs of a bad catalytic converter usually due to improper timing of the timing chain. Go aftermarket! keep us posted on what it is when you find out GL.

ok, due to family issues i havent had a chance to take the car to the dealership. Does infiniti charge to check the car? Like to do the check engine light?

When was your car built? You can find the build date on a sticker in the driver's side door jam. You have a 4 year unlimited warranty and a 6 year/70,000 mile powertrain warranty that covers the engine and transmission. I just bought my car a month ago. The unlimited warranty ran out in January, but the powertrain warranty has already saved me money. When I took my car in for warranty work they also gave me a loaner car for the day, an 07 G sedan and none of it cost me a penny. Take full advantage of your warranties while you can.

Enjoy your new ride, and get ready to get bit by the mod bug. It gets us all!!!

like said above, first find out if under warranty/take to dealer. Second, run codes via dealer or reputable repair shop, and have them check the cat. converter and for possible exhaust leaks, running codes should provide answers of sensors failed/faulty converter.
