Premium Gas

Correct... this is the topic, but the majority fail to realize the purpose of the topic. No one is contesting the fact that is SAYS required, but instead of taking it for face value, as most here seem to do, people who are interested want to know WHY it's required. What's the backing for this requirement? We're not trying to downplay the engineer's decision, we just want to know what the engineer is thinking. Blue Meanie isn't advocating regular as he USES premium. If you note his signature, he has a 5AT sedan - which DOESN'T require premium.

if you researched the topic at all you would have seen it always leads to this outcome. some people want to argue against the fact that everything says to use premium.

... And this is coming from the kid who jacked his car up on an inclined driveway without any jack-stands or stoppers behind the wheel and attempted to roll out his car's fenders without properly heating the paint which inevitably ended with the car crashing down (nearly on his friend) and chipped/missing paint above the rear wheels.
Honestly, this argument shouldn't be directed at the cost of regular vs. premium, but its effect, if any, on performance.
