Premium Gas
#94
p.s: if you drive your car once in a while and keep it parked for long periods, its better to pump premium for about quarter to half tank. If you pump a full of premium and drive the car once a week, by the time you used half your gas, the rest of the gas would've lost its premium advantage and would be like driving on regular gas. i dunno if this made sense but it is true...
so ya.. don't pump a full tank of premium unelss your going to be using it.... by letting premium gas sit for long periods.. your wasting your money

It's funny because you can't even explain why he's wrong. You just *believe* it to be true.
And it's "you're," as in a conjunction from you + are.

your car wont implode if you use 87. but, there is a performance benefit to using 91 and thats a fact. there's a 76 out here that sells 101 and i put some in the g one time i noticed a difference for sure. the higher the better, they dont just make higher octane gas to get more money out of you by fooling you with some meaningless number system. it allows the pcm to have more room with the timing, you wont hear the g' ping on 87 cuz the computer cuts the timing back so much that it wont ping. and, as a result there is a loss of performance. ive been using shell 91 since day one, and my g runs great!

This thread has run its course. At this point it's more a pissing competition than anything else. Either you paid $$$$$$$ like some of us did, and you're going to take car of your car. Or, you paid $.02 for the car, and that's how you're going to treat it. After all, it's your car and, who are we to judge how you spend your $$?

^Why?
That's not true either. I would sincerely doubt any performance gain from going to 101. I would even bet that your performance would suffer from 101, and that any effect you felt from using 101 was purely mental.

why? because, the previous owner (which will be him to the new guy) is pumping regular on a car designed for premium (most likely the new owner will want to pump premium but not knowing the car has been driven on regular )
when you cheap out on an extra few cents for premium...because its a "lease" ... there are a lot of other things that the person is more likely to overlook as well... perhaps longer durations for oil changes... not repairing minor problems.. etc.
i would never buy a used leased car... everyone knows, when someone leases the car.. most likely they are not going to keep it and will treat it like crap.. when you own something for yourself.. you are more likely to take care of it.
hope that explains "WHY"
