While the press release doesn't say the Brembos are gone, it would surely say if there were larger brakes. It soulds like someone at the dealer is really pulling your leg to get you to buy an 04'. Try to play them. Tell them if they are so sure the Brembos are gone that they will put in writing if you buy an 04' that they will trade out the car for free for an 05' if it has Brembos.

who cares if they come with brembo's or not.
that's why there's the "aftermarket" *wink*
rumor has it that the 05s will have 20hp over the 03-04 G35s. I'll happily take that trade off and buy me a set of AP braking components.

We care about Brembo's because if we have to install them ourselves afterwards, it's like $2-3000. Plus, if Infiniti is going to increase the price of the car, they can't just take away the Brembo's, that should lower the price

I care because 20HP costs thousands less than Brembos.
It is just rumour, but my salesperson wasn't trying to get me to buy an 04 - just the opposite. He said he verified the no Brembo with the Infiniti regional rep, so I tend to believe it.
Good point about no mention in the press release of larger/different brakes, that is the biggest hole I see in the rumour.

Our dealer told us "no brembos on 05" a couple of weeks ago. So we ordered an 04. I also don't think the 19" wheels on the 05 will be round for too long on chicago's roads. But they are forged so that should help.

heard from my dealer today, too, they are eventually dropping the brembo's, due to the many complaints of squeaks, etc. from owners (not aware that performance brakes aint the quietest of the brakes)
dont know if its true, or if its for 05, but it is something i did hear from an authority INF. person, NOT selling me anything ...

i can confirm that, my best friends dad works at infiniti dealer and he told me that no more brembos, the reason infiniti didnt mention of the other breaks is because they are upgraded then normal brakes, but still not a downgrade from the brembos. and the reason inifniti is changing the brembos is because too many complains of sqeaking and not enough life on the brembos, costing customers alot to replace them. i am almost a 100% on this now, because he wont lie to me, since ive already ordered the 05 and there not taking any more 04 orders.
