grinding sound @ 20-30mph

whether im coasting or hitting the brakes(more-so when hitting the brakes) i get this loud grinding sound that sounds like when brake pads are worn down.....which is what i would think it was if it happened when i hit the brakes at any time, or if it didnt do it when i was just coasting, but since it does happen when im coasting and it only happens between 20-30mph(really loud at 25mph) i dont think its the brakes.

its funny because braking/coasting is nice and quiet above 30mph and below 20mph

any thoughts anyone?

i have a fully loaded(19" rims/sport suspension) '06 AT btw....never driven a car with larger than 16" wheels or with sport tuned suspension, so i dunno if thats something to be expected when driving with those

try checking your tires. i had tire feathering on mine... would get a really loud roaring noise when braking to a stop. but u said it only does it between 20-30.. so it doesn't make much sense. maybe it's a bearings issue? are u still under warranty? get it checked out at the dealer.

Grinding noises coming from any vehicle means "Failure" and that's not a good thing. Take you car to the dealership, check on the warranty and get this issue taken care of ASAP! The tire noise mentioned above is a ROAR, not the grinding noise you described.

hey man i had the same problem and still do until i get new tires. Your problem sounds much like mine...around the 20 mile mark it starts grinding...mine was cupping of the front tires.
