Hit a curb... What to do?

Ok so yesterday I went to have a key made for a motorcycle im restoring. I find a guy in a small town about a half hour out of Columbus. I get there and there is no parking lot, just the road so I am going to have to park by the curp on the street. I pull in, reverse, straighten up, and then it happend. I went to pull up farther and my freakin front right wheel went up on the curb then fell back off. It scratched the crap out of the top outter *******. Now I need to get my 18" wheel fixed. Will Infiniti fix this? How long would it take? Is this covered by warranty? Thanks a lot for your time and help all.

Infiniti can only sell you a new one. The dealer could probably recommend a place that you could have it repaired. Most places charge around $100-$150 to fix the rim. You might also look on ebay. Single wheels come up every now and then and they aren't too expensive.

Re: Hit a curb... What to do?

Thanks for the advice. I would also like to clarify that when i purchased my coupe and drove it off the lot brand new it had 84 miles already on it. When I took it home for an inspection the wheel already had scratching and a little crack on it. I think i may bring this up as a valid arguement to Infiniti. What do you guys think?

I think you will be paying for it to be fixed or replaced. Once you leave the lot, unless it's the same day, how can you prove it was there before you took the car home?

Although I don't know what argument you are trying to 'win' against Infiniti. If you trying to get them to pay for damage that you caused, I would advise against it.

Re: Hit a curb... What to do?

You needed to bring it up with them when it was just that scratch and crack. If you've done obvious major curb damage after the fact they're most likely going to tell you they're not responsible for wear and tear.

Re: Hit a curb... What to do?

i also hit a curb recently and scratched it up a decent amount, the outer rim as well as a couple spokes. i called infiniti for an estimate for a new 18" wheel for the front and i was quoted $900. luckily, there's a franchise company in california called Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists. they come to your location and repair your rim for a flat charge of $100, and it is guaranteed for life. if anything goes wrong with their repair over time, they'll redo it for free. i had it done and the result was fantastic. looks brand new, cannot be more happier with the results!

Re: Hit a curb... What to do?

when i bought my car Infiniti asked me for wheel insurance: flat repair, tow, rim repair, etc... i bought it for this exact reason.
they didn't offer this to you? i guess not...

anyways, there might be some people selling their rims, but i doubt they will sell only 1 rim.
good luck!

Re: Hit a curb... What to do?

Im not exactly sure.... Im going to go up tomorrow and find out whats the deal. Thanks for the advice guys, hopefully i can get it fixed. Its not as bad as you all are probably imaging, its not even noticable unless your checking out each wheel. Still, I wont be paying 900$ anytime soon.
