2 Fixes down, many more to go

After buying my G35 on Saturday morning, I had a few repairs to do. First the drivers window was stuck half way down. I knew about it and used it as a bargaining chip. He wanted 15k for a 2003 G35 coupe with 40k on it. I offered him $13.5 and he took it.

I found the tutorial on fixing the motor in the door, and it works great now. I cleaned it really well, and greased it with white lithium grease. I was not sure what type of grease to use. But the window works great now.

I found out today that the gas door lock was broken, I looks like he tried to close the door while the lock was engaged and broke off the plastic pin that locks it.

Here are some pics of my rigging, I know it does not look great, but who is going to see it.

I drilled a small hole in the old left over part of the pin.

I grabbed a flat screw I had laying around and screwed it in. It seems pretty solid and works great, plus nobody is going to see it. I know there has to be some better ways to fix this besides buying a new part. I don’t know how much a new one cost but I am guessing about $50?

The part was pretty easy to get out,
1. remove the black clip on the inside, picture 3 and 4
2.remove about 8 of those black plugs in the trunk, you don't need to remove the panels just take enough plugs out to get your hand behind it and pull that solenoid out.
3. remove the electrical connector.

That is just dust and dirt, the guy who owned it before me let the whole car get pretty dirty.

1. I plan to work on a big scratch I have on my bumper next.
https://g35driver.com/forums/interio...ch-advice.html

2. Need a new back passenger tire. Anyone have a used one? that will hold me over till I can replace all 4 with matching tires. I have 2 discount tire brand on the front, that make a ton of road noise. a nitto on the back and a almost bald one on the back passenger.

3. clean and condition my leather seats.

4. clean the engine

5. fix drivers side lock not working with fob.

Funny, this sounds exactly like my car...

1. I don't have a huge scratch, but I've got quite a few deep ones.

2. I need a rear driver tire

3. My seats were dirty/faded, so I conditioned them with Leatherique

4. Cleaned the engine bay a couple of weeks after I got it with Simple Green

5. My driver's side door lock doesn't work in warm weather with the fob
