Welcome to Driver Mike....=)
Removal is relatively easy since we live in a warm climate, and it's removed just like what we refer to as DEBADGING. It just takes a little longer due to the size of the molding. You'll need fishing line, GooGone, ScratchX and some quality wax upon completion. Do NOT use anything else on your painted surface other than what I listed above, some members recommendations are flat scary. (alchol..rubbing compound)
Once the molding is removed saturate heavily the glue with GooGone and a rag but don't rub hard cause you'll scratch the paint....take your time. With the glue removed use an applicator pad and rub the area with ScratchX to remove any shadows. Now you can apply wax....should look like new! Invest in some micro-polish rags that makes the job results better. (used for wax removal) "GOOD LUCK!"
