1st night with my G35, and it doesn't fire up!
My G35 Coupe 5AT was my first ever import car purchase. The dealership sales process was pleasant, I drove the car home, the automobile was fantastic! I still can't believe how much power this little 3.5 litre engine produced.
I nearly flipped out however. I got home, ate dinner, and decided to go for another drive and the car wouldn't start! The car was completely dead. There were no interior lights, I couldn't get the doors to unlock using the key fob. Nothing worked!
With no power, I thought I could see if I could boost it.
It turns out, the dealer didn't reconnect the battery terminal, or didn't tighten the bolt for the terminal, so it fell off during my first drive. I thought dealers 'prep' the car? Don't we pay something like $175 dollars for that?
I'm happy with the car, but like many on this post, I've very dissappointed with the dealerships.

Hey glASSclown,
Don't laugh too hard - Chevy service crashed my then-new 1996 C-1500 into a wall when I took it in for a "30-minute" oil change. I got pissed after about an hour and the service manager finally told me that they had "damaged the front bumber and were replacing it". I went and took a look - they ended up replacing the grille, bumper dress panel and bumper.
Enjoy that Chevy service!

You gotta wonder. If your service was so bad maybe even after the first time, why would you go ahead and get ANOTHER 2 Nissan's? I believe you are the one that should be laughed at because of your stupidity and ignorance of not learning after the first time or even second time in your case of how bad your service was.
Also makes me wonder if you're really just not jealous of the G35. Hell, if I ended up getting a Corvette, you sure as hell wouldnt see me on the G35 boards unless I loved to look at the car and know all about it.

Mistakes will occur in life. Accept it. As long as they do a good job remediating the problem. I doubt it was anyone's intention to leave the battery wire undone. I'm fairly meticulous when I work on my car and I've done a few absent-minded things. I'm not above that. Neither are you or anyone else.

The service has become much worse with the third car (300ZX) than the first two (240SX and Maxima), which were OK (nothing spectacular or disastrous).
Examples on 300ZX:
A/C was not working- both local Nissan dealers said I need a new A/C compressor- it was actually the evaporator instead (took it to Z1 Motorsports in Georgia)
Power steering fluid leak- Nissan dealers said I needed a whole new power steering rack, and Z1 simply replaced a cracked power steering hose!
Hesitation problems- no less than 6 Nissan dealers could do anything about hesitation, and Z1 simply replaced the oxygen sensors and PCV valves to solve the problem!
Changing tires- the local Nissan dealer could not install a new set of Yokohama AVS db S2 tires I bought from Tire Rack (same size as stock) on the stock 300ZX wheels after struggling with them for 2 hours, so I took it to a local Goodyear tire place and they installed them with no problem!
Z1 Motorsports is 409 miles away- I can't go to them for every little thing. There aren't many options sometimes, and after the tire fiasco which wasted 4 hours of my time for no work being completed, I'll avoid Nissan dealers except only to order parts for the 300ZX, which I'm keeping as it's paid off and I couldn't get a good price for it as it has 159,000 miles. It has cost over $5000 to keep it going for the last 2 years before I got the Vette.
I'm extremely happy with the Vette- an amazing car!
I'm thankful I didn't get the G- looks good, but no substance and too many issues!
I'll be at the corvetteforum!

It's weird how people can switch from cars like you (link91) to a sports car like the G35 coupe. I mean .. I can see people going from 330 BMW's to G35's and RX-7's to M3's but .. crown victoria? Wow. wOw.
