I don't understand this post at all. Is it real? You own a new $70-80K MB and you are just thinking about buying another $35K car and the dilema is that you won't have any money left? I personally don't believe this to be real.
If it is, this is someone who doesn't know how to manage money. Just because you have money, you don't have to spend it. A CLK55 is a pretty expensive luxury. You don't buy one unless you have the money to pay for it and are really interested in it. Yes the G35 and CLK 55 are both coupes, but 2 completely different cars in different ranges. The CLK is for the crowd looking for the MB name with a comfy car to cruise in traffic and the bvds. It has power and a decent set of brakes, but leasurely turn-in and light handling. When you drive them they are comforable, but not really sporting. The people who are serious about this car AND performance buy M3s. That is the typical M3 owner. People who are interested in just performace buy Z06s, 911s or Vipers in this range.
So then why would you want to buy another $35K car with less performance than an M3? Is there any real criteria to this inquiry other than it looks nice? Have a MB for a few months and get bored of the styling? Like I said earlier, I don't get this post.

It's an easy answer, if you care more about the performance of the car than get the G, if you car about "baller status" and the look of the car, keep the clk. I would personally get the G and mod the [censored] out of it. either way, enjoy.

If I were you I'd keep the AMG, even if it does mean paying an arm and a leg for maintainance, etc, etc. But I guess if financially you SERIOUSLY cannot afford it then dump the AMG and get the G b/c like everyone on the threads saying, the G is a bang for the buck.
But take into consideration the depreciated value of the AMG when you sell it. Although I'm not familiar with the depreciation value of the CLK55AMG I know the M3 depreciates a lot less than most cars out there, if this is also true for the AMG then sell it, get the G, invest the remaining money and maybe someday you can get the 911 =) cheers
